Oceano is set to release third album "Incisions" on October 1st, 2013. The first single from "Incisions" is the heavy electronic metal song "Slow Murder," which can be heard now on the Alternative Press website here.
For Oceano, "Incisions" is essentially the first of the band's albums to be approached lyrically on an emotional and personal level. Its purpose lyrically and musically is to expel the stress and inner demons of the time between albums. "We invested a lot of time and effort in the writing, production, and recording of Incisions. This is our most focused work to date and we are proud and excited to share it with the world," said the band after recording.

Oceano has posted a video update for fans from the studio, as the band records upcoming new album, "Incisions."
The Chicago five-piece is hard at work writing and recording the follow-up to 2010's "Contagion" at Electrowerks Studio in Downers Grove, Illinois. "Incisions" is due to be released later this year on Earache Records in Europe, and via Century Media/Earache Records in the USA.
The new studio video includes interviews with Oceano during the recording process, and also introduces new guitarist Michael Kasper, who replaces the departing Devin Shidaker. More...
Chicago's Oceano has started work on a brand new studio album, which the band has revealed will be titled "Incisions." The five piece is currently hard at work writing the follow-up to 2010's "Contagion," with plans to release the new album later this year on Earache Records.
Oceano has released an official lyric video for the new track "Slow Murder," which can be viewed below. The band's guitarist Nick Conser comments:
"The new Oceano comes out today. Get ready for it. We're starting a new chapter in this band. We're not selling out. We're not getting soft. We're getting more fucked up and bringing more hate. And if you want us to change, then you're gonna be disappointed. We're not gonna replicate any album that we've ever released. We're going to get more evil than anything you've heard from this band. Today will show the start of how hateful this record is gonna be."
Oceano will be hitting the road again full-time this summer in support of the new album, with tour dates due to be announced in the near future. The band also has a hometown show scheduled for this Friday, February 1st at Reggie's Rock Club in Chicago, featuring support from Monsters, The Ox King, Thieves, and No Zodiac. More...
Chicago deathcore act Oceano is gearing up for a European tour with Louisiana metallers IWrestledABearOnce. The "Ruining Earth For Everybody" tour kicks off this Friday, September 7th in Karlsruhe, Germany, and also features Vanna and For All Those Sleeping. The tour will be Oceano's second ever visit to Europe. Oceano frontman Adam Warren comments:
"Almost a month following our 'comeback', we got an amazing call. It was the offer for Oceano to tour with IWABO. Of course, we immediately said yes, still not knowing we'd be graced with doing TWO back-to-back tours in two months with them. Upon finding this out, we all simultaneously vomited and shit our pants in pure excitement! It was a full body explosion from almost every orifice.
"Aside from my gratuitous bodily fluid references, I (along with the other members of Oceano) have loved the IWABO folks since we first met and toured with them oh so long ago on our first European tour (Never Say Die). A solid mutual respect and friendship was formed and we are really excited to be reunited with plenty of time to get stupid with each other.
"We were also very stoked to find out our very close partners in PARTY and friends, Within The Ruins will be joining us on the US side of touring with IWABO. This is going to be a long but unforgettable fun couple of months for everyone! See you all soon!"

Metal Injection has posted a video clip online of Summer Slaughter bands discussing the future of extreme metal, which can be viewed below. Metal Injection also commented:
"We asked bands on the 2011 Summer Slaughter festival what they think the future of extreme music will be. Some of the answers will surprise you. See how members of The Black Dahlia Murder, Whitechapel, Darkest Hour, Dying Fetus, Fleshgod Apocalypse, Oceano, As Blood Runs Black, and Within the Ruins respond. More SS clips coming soon."
Metalinjection.net asked bands on the 2011 Summer Slaughter festival to talk about the best part of the tour. Check out the clip below to see how members of The Black Dahlia Murder, Whitechapel, Darkest Hour, Dying Fetus, Fleshgod Apocalypse, Oceano, As Blood Runs Black, and Within the Ruins responded.
The House of Blues once again had issues with their guest list coming in too late. And of course that meant that I missed the first three acts and therefore have absolutely nothing to say about Within the Ruins, Fleshgod Apocalypse or As Blood Runs Black. Despite me giving an otherwise positive review to the new Fleshgod Apocalypse album, I had to wait in the front foyer while they played.
Thankfully, I was able to get into the venue by the time that Oceano began playing. Even though I hate ripping on hometown bands, Adam Warren sounded like he was choking on something throughout the entire set. Outside of their vocalist sounding hoarse the entire time, there was nothing remarkable about Oceano. They're yet another generic deathcore band that does nothing to stand out. I seriously can’t tell the difference between them and about twenty other deathcore bands that I've heard.
After Oceano finished playing, I was thankfully treated to Powerglove, a video game music cover band. I'll be the first guy to admit that I'm a complete and utter nerd and I've been a gamer since the Sega Genesis, so I naturally loved this band. And given that there is a TON of video game music that needs a metal remix, I'm hoping to see Powerglove have a long and prosperous career. (They still need to cover Grabbag from Duke Nukem 3D.)
And even for non-gamers out there, Powerglove put on a VERY good show. Between having a contest to bring the band the head of a stuffed animal and tossing blow-up swords into the audience, they were clearly one of the best band's there in terms of sheer theatricality. I'm really looking forward to seeing this band do a longer set in the future. More...
