Beatallica Records Video Message For Japanese Fans

Milwaukee-based BEATALLICA, a satirical mashup act whose hilarious schtick marries the songwriting prowess of THE BEATLES to the deep-throated rock growl of METALLICA, recently recorded a video message for its Japanese fans. Watch it at this location.

BEATALLICA's first official CD, "Sgt. Hetfield's Motorbreath Pub Band", was released on July 10 via Oglio Records.

Comprised of members Jaymz Lennfield (vocals, guitar), Grg Hammettson (guitar), Kliff McBurtney (bass), and Ringo Larz (drums), BEATALLICA has been converting naysayers into believers for years — having made fans throughout the world, including such renowned headbangers as DREAM THEATER's Mike Portnoy and ANTHRAX's Scott Ian. The Hidden Hand Announce Tour Dates

THE HIDDEN HAND, the band featuring hard rock guitar legend Scott "Wino" Weinrich (ST. VITUS, THE OBSESSED, SPIRIT CARAVAN), has scheduled the following dates:

Aug. 30 - The Ottobar - Baltimore, MD (w/ CHOWDER, FILTHY ROTTEN SEX MACHINE)
Aug. 31 - Bowery Ballroom (Royal Flush Release Party) - New York, NY (w/ CLUTCH, BEATALLICA)
Sep. 01 - The Brighton Bar - Long Branch, NJ (w/ SOLACE, BLACK IRISH, JOHN WILKES BOOTH)

THE HIDDEN HAND's latest full-length release, "The Resurrection of Whiskey Foote", came out in February. The CD is the third THE HIDDEN HAND full-length (second from Southern Lord) and features the lineup that recorded the now sold-out/out-of-print "Devoid of Color" EP from last year: Scott "Wino" Weinrich (guitars, vocals), Bruce Falkinburg (bass) and Evan Tanner (drums).

"The Resurrection of Whiskey Foote" is not necessarily a concept album but it is heavily layered with historical story-based lyricism and themse. Musically there is a subtle southern or classic rock vibe (ala killer slide playing from Wino and even some harp by Michael Anthony Miller) that creeps into the foundation of their brand of dark, heavy, progressive rock.

Beatallica Bassist Sits Out Fall Tour

Bassist Kliff McBurtney of the Milwaukee-based BEATALLICA, a satirical mashup act whose hilarious schtick marries the songwriting prowess of the BEATLES to the deep-throated rock growl of METALLICA, has posted the following message on the group's official web site:

"At the beginning of November my wife, daughter and myself made a big jump and moved to the Seattle, WA area. This is something that we have been talking about doing even before I was in BEATALLICA. Due to a certain turn of events and family obligations we decided that the time was now or never. We really enjoy it out here and look forward to getting to know the people and area more. However, we do miss all of our family and friends back in the Midwest and there's no doubt about that.

"Which brings me to the important issue. Between just getting off the road/plane, trying to get my family's move completed and trying to get everything settled here in the Northwest I will not be able to go out on the upcoming late fall tour here in the States. It saddens me that I can't be out there, not only for the band but for all of the fans and friends that I was so looking forward to meeting. But when it comes down to it, family comes first, always. Beatallica Frontman Talks About Lars' Help w/ Sony

Michael Tierney (a.k.a. Jaymz Lennfield) of METALLICA/BEATLES cover band BEATALLICA recently spoke to AdrenalinFanzine.com about receiving help from METALLICA drummer Lars Ulrich in their dispute with the Sony Corporation over BEATALLICA's "unlawful use" of the group's compositions "without authorization or license." A couple of excerpts from the interview follow:

AdrenalinFanzine.com: I know that Lars came to your aid when Sony sent BEATALLICA a "cease and desist" letter to stop the spread of you music online, What kinds of advice did he give?

Michael Tierney: "His advice was really more encouragement and being willing to direct us to the right folks to talk to. He offered up the services of METALLICA's attorney, Peter Paterno. Both of them have been just great to us. We've actually received good advice and have a whole bunch of new knowledge thanks to a seminar at Harvard University we just did. All those lawyers surrounded by musicians makes for great conversation and discussion of the issues the recording industry finds itself in today. Things like downloading, the Internet as a whole, file sharing, technology, and more..." More...
