Tombs Posts Violitionist Clips

Tombs visited the Violitionist.com studios for a live performance of three songs from the band's latest release "Path of Totality." The band ripped through the tracks "Black Hole of Summer," "Constellations," and "Bloodletters."

The Violitionist session was recorded by Michael Briggs on June 16th during the Tombs headlining album release tour for "Path of Totality." The video as well as audio from the session is available here and in the clips below.

A Storm Of Light Announces Tour Dates With Tombs

The new album from Brooklyn-based apocalyptic metal contingent A Storm of Light is now available through Profound Lore Records. The album features guest appearances by Soundgarden lead guitarist Kim Thayil, Jarboe (ex-Swans), Kris Force (Amber Asylum), Nerissa Campbell, and more. Wolvhammer and The Atlas Moth Touring To SXSW

Minneapolis, MN's WOLVHAMMER have just announced a string of March dates with brothers of the sonic cloth THE ATLAS MOTH. This series of live shows will take them down this year's edition of the SXSW Music Conference, where WOLVHAMMER will be appearing at a Brooklyn Vegan/Profound Lore day party as well as the official Profound Lore label showcase. This run will see the band sharing stages with the aforementioned The Atlas Moth as well as Howl, KEN Mode, Tombs, Dark Castle, Deafheaven, The Body, Batillus, Grayceon, Castavet, Altaar, and Slough Feg.

Wolvhammer's latest release, "Black Marketeers of WWIII," was released by Init Records.

MetalSucks Announces Free Compilations

MetalSucks.net has announced two free compilations coming early next year, featuring underground bands from the ever growing New York City metal scene. Entitled "NYC Sucks," Volume 1 will contain 14 songs by as many bands and will be released on January 18th. Volume 2, containing 13 tracks, will be released on February 22nd. Both compilations will be available for download on MetalSucks, will contain high-quality 320kbps MP3s, and will include a PDF of digital liner notes with information about all the bands.

Batillus Contributes Song To NYC Compilation

Batillus has issued the following announcement about contributing a track to a compilation album featuring New York City heavy metal bands:

"We’re honored to announce that we’ve been included in a compilation of the best underground heavy music from New York, curated by the one and only MetalSucks.net. We’re on the first of two volumes (cover here), which will be released on January 18th.

Tombs Working On New Album

Tombs has entered Elmwood Recording studios in Dallas, TX with engineer John Congleton (BARONESS, EXPLOSIONS IN THE SKY, BLACK MOUNTAIN, ST. VINCENT) to begin work on the follow-up album to "Winter Hours." The new album is expected to see a spring 2011 international release date with more details to be announced soon.
