After Party Massacre Trailer Posted Online

A teaser trailer has been posted online for the new movie "After Party Massacre," which will feature music from Incantation and Asphyx. The trailer is available below.

The creators of the movie also issued the following statement:

"Giving a new twist to horror, the Afterparty Massacre, brings metal, blood and gore back to the screen! Written and directed by both Kristoff (of Horrormerch.com) and Kyle Severn (of Incantation and Acheron), the Afterparty Massacre is one killer party with mind-blowing amounts of blood, metal, flesh and a huge death metal/industrial soundtrack from 16Volt, Asphyx, Incantation, Ventana and more!

"The After Party Massacre centers around a mysterious female fan - Scarlett - who attends a live performance by the metal bands Incantation and Soulless. At this show - Scarlett soon found herself thrown into the dark depths of torture and depravity showing what happens when you push - an already damaged mind - too far. During this show Scarlett encounters a forcibly rough fan that had followed her into an empty corner of the venue. During this altercation she has flashbacks of a dark past and it transforms her into a bloodthirsty killer on a mission to kill her attacker plus anyone and everyone else in her way (friend - fan and foe alike) until only a pile of bodies is left within this bloody massacre.

"With Scarlett being as patient and calculating as she is torturous and demented, her killing spree is a precise and bloody massacre to witness. Filled with sex, metal, and an unpredictable killer who uses an arsenal of axes, sex toys, box cutters, and power saws as her tools of torture and dismemberment. The After Party Massacre is a huge blood filled splatterfest that is too brutal to miss!"

Asphyx Issue Update On New LP "Deathhammer"

Dutch death metal legend Asphyx posted an update on the recording of the forthcoming LP "Deathhammer." The album is the follow up to "Death....The Brutal Way" in 2009. The new LP is scheduled for an early 2012 release through Century Media Records.

The band checked in with the following status report about the new album:

“By now, all the guitars, drums and bass tracks for the upcoming 'Deathhammer' album are recorded. Drums were recorded in the classic Harrow Studio, known from the Asphyx classics as 'The Rack' and 'Last One On Earth.' The guitars and bass were recorded in The Mörser Studio. In a few weeks, the vocals will be recorded in the Harrow Studio as well and then Dan Swanö will do the album’s mixing and mastering, just as on 'Death…The Brutal Way' and 'Live Death Doom.'

" 'Deathhammer' promises to be a darkened successor of 'Death…The Brutal Way.' Almost every band is praising their newest album to be heavier and more brutal than the previous one, but actually in this case it's the harsh truth. 'Deathhammer' is in every way heavier, doomier and darker. Maybe it’s because of the fact that most of the songs were written in late Autumn/Winter?! We do not know…but it’s easily our heaviest effort so far!."

In other Asphyx news, the band will be playing a string of dates in Europe, including an appearance at the NRW Deathfest in Germany on Saturday, September 17th, 2011. Asphyx will also perform at Metropool in Hengelo, Holland on October 15, 2011, where the band will play the complete “Last One On Earth” LP. Another appearance is scheduled at this year’s Eindhoven Metal Meeting on December 16, 2011, where the band will be play the “The Rack” album in its entirety to commemorate the 20th anniversary of its release.

Asphyx Recruits New Bassist

Dutch metallers Asphyx have issued the following update about parting ways with their bassist:

"Seems that there is a lot of confusion and misunderstanding due to the fact that Asphyx and Wannes have splitt ways. The other blog was perhaps not clear enough about this and was interpreted wrongly by some people. Wannes and us both agreed that it was better to split as friends and go our own way again. Wannes can concentrate on his own band, Pentacle, and his family. Wannes and us are still good friends, we know eac hother for ages,a nd there is NO bad blood at all. Wannes heart and thoughts are 100% Pentacle and that just didn't work out for Asphyx.

"We are both two old school Death Metal bands, but with different approaches and personal cultures. By 'non compromising' we meant that Asphyx does not stand open for 'newer things' or elements in our music. Perhaps we are even more conservative then the Bush government ever was. We, again ,wish Wannes all the best in his musical career and with his family and want to thank him for the great past 3 years! So we say Proost! Our new bass player Alwin can be heard on the upcoming split 7" with Finnish doom masters Hooded Menace."
