The Agonist Reveals "Prisoners" Details
Extreme metallers The Agonist will be unleashing a third studio album, "Prisoners," on June 4th in Europe and June 5th in North America via Century Media Records.
In regards to the album artwork, front-woman Alissa White-Gluz comments: "We wanted to really include a chaotic visual to reflect the chaotic sound of the band, but we also wanted to show that the lyrics on this album are a lot more introverted...The human face was left non-descript on purpose-- it doesn't belong to any particular person, but we could call him the Lonely Solipsist."

The Agonist Posts "The Ideomotor" Promo Video
Canadian melodic death metal act The Agonist posted a promo video for the new track "The Ideomotor." As previously reported, The Agonist will release its third LP "Prisoners," the long awaited follow up to the 2009 release "Lullabies for the Dormant Mind," on June 4, 2012 (EU) and June 5, 2012 (North America) through Century Media Records.

Bonded By Blood Embarking On North American Tour
Bonded by Blood is due to kick off a North American tour tonight with Canadian all-girl metal band Kittie. Bonded By Blood - which recently finished recording new album, "The Aftermath" - will also be joined by Blackguard and The Agonist on the six-week trek, which starts in Poughkeepsie, New York.

After spending many months in the studio, melodic death metallers The Agonist will finally be unleashing their third studio album, "Prisoners," on June 4th in Europe and June 5th in North America via Century Media Records.
The band is now ready to give fans their first preview of this upcoming release with the premiere of the new single, "Ideomotor." Head over to Guitar World.com here to hear this track. The following press release was also issued:

After spending many months in the studio, melodic death metallers The Agonist have finally finished their third studio album, "Prisoners." Produced by Christian Donaldson (Cryptopsy) and mixed by Tue Madsen, "Prisoners" is set to be released via Century Media Records on June 4th in Europe and June 5th in North America.
In regards to this upcoming album, the band comments: "Creating 'Prisoners' was the most challenging under-taking to date for The Agonist. Years of emotion, passion, thought and experience went into making this album, and I think people will be able to hear, feel and think right along with us when they listen to 'Prisoners'."

The Agonist Vocalist Wins Peta2 Award
If there's one thing that hits a sour note with Alissa White-Gluz, the powerful voice of Québécois metal band The Agonist, it's animal abuse. The singer uses her voice to raise awareness about animal suffering every chance she gets, and that's one of the reasons why she's snagged a Libby Award in the category of Breakthrough Artist from peta2, PETA's youth division. The sixth annual Libby Awards ("Libby" is for "liberation") honors animal-friendly people and products.
White-Gluz took a stand against the annual seal slaughter in her native Canada by shooting a striking peta2 ad that shows her above a photo of a baby seal who is about to be clubbed and reads, "Bang Your Own Head, Not a Seal's." She also sat down for an exclusive interview with peta2.
"The seal hunt is something I'm so ashamed to even be remotely associated with," says the Canadian-born vocalist, who also discusses how grateful she is that she was raised vegetarian and has since gone vegan. "I'm shocked that it's still going on and still encouraged by the government." More...
The Agonist Releases EP On Tour With Kamelot
As The Agonist prepares to embark on a North American tour in support of Kamelot, Alestorm and Blakguard, the band will release the EP "The Escape," which will be sold exclusively on the road and at CM Distro.
Century Media released the following announcement:
"The Agonist to kick-off Kamelot Tour with new EP exclusively available on the road and at CM Distro; Launches Official YouTube channel.
"After spending a few months in the studio, melodic death metalers The Agonist are ready to hit the road with Kamelot, Alestorm, and Blackguard on their imminent North American trek. Unfortunately, lead-guitarist Danny Marino will be unable to join the band on tour, but The Agonist will be bringing their friend and ex-The Catalyst guitarist Justin Deguire to handle rhythm guitar duties while Paco takes over lead guitar in his stead.
For fans that have been patiently waiting for new material from The Agonist, this tour will be the first opportunity to get your hands on the band's latest release! Kamelot has issued the following announcement about an upcoming North American tour in support of the band's latest album:
"In the ongoing Kamelot campaign for the band's newest release, 'Poetry for the Poisoned,' we are extremely pleased to announce that Kamelot have confirmed a full North American Tour! The long awaited North American Tour, to support the Billboard Charting Epic 'Poetry for the Poisoned' (Peaking @ number 74 in the US on Billboard’s Top 200!), has been solidified. Along for the ride, are folk/power metalers Alestorm, who are happy to bring their brand of 'Pirate Infused Metal' to the Kamelot Legions. "Due to continuing medical and personal issues, Roy Khan will not be able to finish the remaining touring in support of 'Poetry for the Poisoned.' Epica's Milwaukee Concert To Stream Live Online
TheRave.com will be streaming Epica live in concert from The Rave/Eagles Club in Milwaukee, Wisconsin USA. The worldwide broadcast will begin at 8pm CDT (9pm Eastern/6pm Pacific/2a GMT) on Sunday, November 28th. The concert will also be rebroadcast at a later date to be determined. Scar Symmetry, Blackguard, and The Agonist are also scheduled to be a part of the broadcast.

Everybody needs a little metal on the weekends, and the Rock Band Network has got new songs available to make sure you get your fix.
