Sleeping Giant Posts Album's Title Track

Sleeping Giant has teamed up with Lambgoat to premiere the title track to the band's forthcoming album, "Finished People," which will be released on August 19th in North America.

The band is currently on the road headlining the "Finished People" tour presented by HM Magazine. See remaining dates after the jump.

Vocalist Tommy Green wrote in the album's liner notes about every song on the album, and here is a small portion of his notes on the title track:

"Thank you to my friends Nate from Xibalba and Joe from Advent for meeting me where I was at to sing on this song. I appreciate your respect and your friendship. I was a prisoner of so many many things in my mind, in my life. I was a slave and I was in chains and Jesus has set me free time after time. I am a finished one. For all of the prisoners, political, judicial, spiritual, physical, I want to fight for you, not against you. I am honored to know all of you. We are all finished people. For my brothers and sisters in the persecuted church in every restricted nation I love you and I pray for you."

The album's track listing is as follows;

1. Clutches
2. Overthrow (check out the lyric video here)
3. Finished People

5. Song of God, Son of Man
6. Christus Victor

Sleeping Giant Posts New Lyric Video

Sleeping Giant has teamed up with AbsolutePunk to premiere a lyric video for the brand new track "Overthrow," which can also be heard below.

This will also serve as an initial offering from Sleeping Giant's 4th full length album, "Finished People," which will be released on August 19th in North America / August 18th in Europe. Vocalist Tommy Green has this to say about the meaning behind this initial track:

"This is about the hardcore scene. Just my opinion. But here it is....

"There is something really attractive to me about a lot of people liking something at the same time. I find myself caught up in the hype and taken a bit by the feeling of connectivity. I like being a part something. I got involved in the scene because I needed family and community to keep me sober and creative. I also was drawn to violence and hate. I am a relatively happy dude but I was caught up in what felt like being in an instant gang with a built in soundtrack.

"I'm not making fun at all. I wanted to fight the world and I felt like when I discovered the hardcore scene in Salt Lake City I had found my place. Come death or jail or isolation, I felt like we had a culture that was different. Some of that has faded in the sheer popularity and commercialism of this culture. But it's still there for me in different ways. More...

Sleeping Giant Finishing New Album

Sleeping Giant, which recently signed to Ain't No Grave Records, is currently putting the finishing touches on the band's first record of the partnership, "Kingdom Days In An Evil Age." Bassist JR Bermuda had the following to say:

"We are very excited to be working with Ain't No Grave Recordings. For the type of thing we are trying to do, to be more ministry than band, to release a sound that not many people are doing yet, ANGR was the clear choice. We knew we had to completely surpass the first two albums in any way possible. It needed to be heavier, angrier, and bolder. We love those songs, but this new album has a different energy on it. We all have urgency and stirring in our spirits. That may be a phrase thrown around in Christian culture, but this album to us represents what we live for: the kingdom of God - which is bigger than church, bigger than Sleeping Giant, bigger than whatever culture or people group we are a part of.

"The Kingdom is now, and the world needs God's justice to come, which is always FOR people, and never against them. So with the authority we have been given in Jesus, and the platform we have been blessed with in the band we thought, if the whole world was watching, what would we say, or better yet, what would we do? The answer is declaration of the glory and goodness of God to a world filled with injustice against peoples, and nations in peril, miracles to display His power, physical and emotional healing to display His love, and break the chains of the captives. "

Eric Gregson (guitars) added, "'Kingdom Days In An Evil Age' is everything you love about Sleeping Giant amplified. It's more aggressive than our last 2 albums. Its heavier, its faster, and the worship is deeper and more brazen than it has ever been. We definitely got more ambitious about this one. We pulled out all the stops."

Sleeping Giant also took a quick break from the studio to play a few dates on the Atticus Metal Tour III alongside Darkest Hour, Born of Osiris, As Blood Runs Black, and The Human Abstract. The band will be announcing more touring plans in the coming weeks as well.
