DevilDriver Bassist To Miss Upcoming Tours
In a statement posted on DevilDriver's official site, bassist Jon Miller gave the following update on his future with the band:
"To all DevilDriver fans and friends, I wanted to give you an update on my status as far as my health is concerned. Regarding the past 2 European tours, I was either forced to leave by my own accord or asked to leave by my band/managment.
"I have been touring with DevilDriver for almost the past ten years and the drugs and alcohol have finally caught up with me. I realized this when I ended up in the ICU on my birthday last week.
"I need to make a change so that I can save my own life and keep the friends that I still have left. I know that alot of DevilDriver fans seek me out first as the one to party with because I consider myself a very social person who is quite outgoing, personable and friendly.
"That was all fun in my 20's touring with the band, but as I am entering my early 30's I can feel the damage catching up with me mentally and physically. I don't want to burn out prematurely before my time on this Earth is up. On January 1st I will be entering an intense rehabilitation program in order for me to reclaim my health and the person who I once was.
"I will not be doing the Canadian tour in January or the Australian tour in February and March. This is for my own good. I need to come out of rehab with a sound body and mind. After I complete my rehabilitation I hope to see all DevilDriver friends and family as soon as I can. Much love to you all."

DevilDriver has issued the following update about the band's new album "Beast" and upcoming tour dates:
"We have just confirmed a small us/Canada run! Cancer Bats have been confirmed for support for this as well which are really fuckin stoked about! We are going to get to some markets that we have never been to before up there so we look forward some new experience. The new album is totally finished and mixed. I am 100% confident in 'Beast.' We have chose the track 'Dead To Rights' as the single and we are planning a video shoot for sometime in late December.
"We are looking at an old friend to get get behind the camera for this one but we shall see if it works out. Devildriver Posts Update On New Album
Devildriver guitarist Mike Spreitzer has issued the following update in regards to the band's future plans as well as the release of its forthcoming studio album:
"I know I say this a lot but this tour has been one of the most fun I have ever done. The UK portion of this tour ended up being some of the biggest DevilDriver headlining shows to date and I would like to thank everybody that made it out. You made us feel very welcome in your country and I can't thank you all enough.
I happy to announce that the new DevilDiver record is DONE!!!. Boecklin spent a night at Andy Sneap's house last week finalizing the mix after out show in Nottingham. It's heavy, it's brutal, it's called Beast and I know all of you are going to love it.
Speaking of Nottingham, I am proud relieved to say that no one in the band or crew got drugged this time around when we went out for drinks after the show. The first time we were in Nottingham in 2005, some of the guys in THE AGONY SCENE and our crew went to a bar and we found one of our guys passed out, face down in the bathroom. The following time we played Nottingham with GOD FORBID I turned out to be one of the unlucky victims along side our merch guy Frank. Nothing bad happened other than an awkward phone call back home, but after 2 beers everything went black and I don't remember a damn thing. Luckily, Doc from God Forbid was with us and made sure we got back to the bus in one piece. He told us that we were not acting drunk but very strange on the way back to the bus. My guess is, people find tourists, drug them, wait for them to get a little silly and mug them as they are leaving the bar. I could be wrong about that scenario, but it sure seems like a waste of drugs to spike someones drink just for fun. Since that day, I watch my drinks and the bar tender very carefully."
DevilDriver Bassist Drops off European Tour
Devildriver bassist Johnathan Miller has issued the following statement about having to drop off the band's European tour:
"To all of the DevilDriver fans who will be attending the remaining dates of our current Fall/Winter European run, it is to my dismay that I will not be able to finish the tour due to a family emergency. I would like to thank our tour manager, Bubble, for filling in for me. This is very disheartening to me but sometimes family must take precedent over anything else in life. I will miss being out with my best buds touring Europe and hope to return as soon as possible."

DevilDriver Checks In From The Road
DevilDriver guitarist Mike Spreitzer has checked in from the road with the following report:
"Today we have a day off and I'm sitting here on the bus in Lincoln, NE watching episode after episode of The Sopranos and drinking a whole lotta coffee. This show is terribly addicting......or is it the coffee that's addicting and I'm just using the show as an excuse? Some of the guys went to the movies to see Machete for the second time and tried to get me to go but I can't peal myself away from my computer, hence another one of my addictions.....my computer. The tour is coming to an end.
"Only one more week and we have 6 weeks off before we head back to Europe with 36 Crazyfists. Then we head back to Australia for the Soundwave Festival in late February, once again with 36 Crazyfists. Which is fine by me. Any tour with those guys ends up being about 40% more fun. Keep an eye out for more updates. There are a lot of exciting things coming up for DevilDriver in 2011. The new album is coming, we have a extensive touring schedule in the works, and there are a few other goodies that I can't disclose just yet. Enough said, The Sopranos is back on."
