More Roadrunner "All Stars" Announced

Roadrunner Records has advanced in the process of putting together the ground-breaking "Roadrunner All-Stars" record to mark the label's 25th Anniversary. The full-length release will contain original musical collaborations between past and present Roadrunner artists. Approximately 50 musicians are expected to participate in this record, making it a most elaborate collaboration project.

Four central musicians have been chosen to produce and write all the songs. Previously announced were Joey Jordison (Slipknot), Dino Cazares (ex-Fear Factory/Brujeria) and Robert Flynn (Machine Head). The fourth writer/producer has recently been selected - 19 year-old metal prodigy Matt Heafy will take the lead of the fourth team. His band, Trivium, has been called "the valedictorian(s) of the 2005 metal class" by Hit Parader Magazine. "It blew my mind to be asked to participate on this album and write a few tracks," says Heafy "It's an amazing honor to be able to record with artists that I used to emulate and listen to growing up." These four musicians will not only play on the songs they have written but also assemble a unique team of Roadrunner artists to appear on each track.

Notable progress has been made in Jordison's, Cazares' and Flynn's teams. Music has been laid down, but vocals have yet to be added. The vocalists for the tracks have not been confirmed as of yet. The artists that have contributed to the tracks recorded thus far are: More...

The Haunted Drop Off Of Machine Head Tour

Swedish thrashers THE HAUNTED have dropped off MACHINE HEAD's upcoming States Turn Blue To Gray North American tour. THE HAUNTED's cancellation is said to be the result of guitarist Patrik Jensen's desire to spend time with his very sick father back home in Sweden.

Jensen was recently forced to leave the group's European tour with CRADLE OF FILTH early while the rest of the band completed the trek as a four-piece.

MACHINE HEAD have yet to announce a replacement act for the tour, which is also scheduled to include DEVILDRIVER and IT DIES TODAY.

THE HAUNTED have been confirmed for the second stage at this year's Ozzfest beginning on July 15 in Mansfield, Massachusetts.

DevilDriver Completes New Album

DevilDriver's upcoming release "The Fury Of Our Maker's Hand" (coming this summer) is complete. You can check out the cover here.

What else to report from the world of DevilDriver? Dez relays:

We've been rehearsing for our upcoming Machine Head/The Haunted/It Dies Today shows. The rehearsals have been going amazing, the band is a machine right now. We'll be main support, and that gives us an opportunity to play 10/11 songs as opposed to the usual 7/8. We have a few surprises for the hardcore DevilDriver fans out there - we'll be playing a few songs off of the debut that we have never played live before (not gonna tell ya which ones). As well, a cover will be thrown into the mix...again, not gonna tell ya which one, just come out to see. We'll also be playing 2 new songs off the upcoming The Fury Of Our Maker's Hand, so get ready for that.

After the MH run, we'll see you out this summer on The Sounds Of The Underground tour, featuring Clutch, Chimaira, Opeth, and a host of other great bands. We'll be going on between noon and 3:00 each day, so get there early if you wanna play with the devil.

We received the final master of the album yesterday, and my living room became a pit last night filled with family, friends, and the band all listening. Gotta say, Colin Richardson, thank you. This sound created will set us apart and elevate us to where we wanna be.

Looking forward to healthy dose of touring.
