Kentucky hard rockers Black Stone Cherry premiere a new song and lyric video for "Soul Machine", taken from their upcoming new fifth studio album "Kentucky", which will be out in stores April 1 via Mascot Label Group.
Check out now "Soul Machine" below.
Following last week's packed out U.K. arena tour, Black Stone Cherry has now unveiled a video for "In Our Dreams," the first single taken from forthcoming fifth studio album, "Kentucky," which is set for an April 1st elease via the Mascot Label Group.
The video is set in a post-apocalyptic underwater world named Hydros and ruled by a nefarious leader. While the band plays, the tale unfolds of two sisters separated in this society by a class structure. They're eventually reunited when a revolt topples the system and they escape to a new life above water.
Black Stone Cherry comments: "We're so proud of this video as visually it's a direction we really haven't taken before. We wanted a powerful performance with a very unique narrative and we believe we've achieved it! We hope y'all enjoy!"
Drummer John Fred Young elaborates: "We wanted the video for 'In Our Dreams' to bring the songs lyrics to life. Director Kyle Cogan helped us to forge new ground, visually. His unique sci-fi storyline of two sisters, tragically separated into two social classes in an oppressed underwater civilization run by an evil leader, accompanied the lyrics so well, and metaphorically, the story feels like it relates to current world circumstances." The final day of a festival always seems to be the most subdued and relaxed, most likely a result of tiredness, but with such a solid lineup to look forward to, who has time to take it easy? Graspop Metal Meeting still had plenty to offer the head bangers on this Sunday, with things getting off to a great start at the second main stage, where New Zealand hard rockers, Like A Storm got things underway. This was another case of checking out a band I had never heard of and they proved well worth a gamble, as their brand of hard rock with a tinge of alternative metal was the perfect way to wake up the sleepy unwashed and accentuate a few hang overs. Like The Dead Daisies two days before, Like A Storm are all about having a good time. It's rock the way it was designed to be, a lot of fun and high energy, though they put their own, native stamp on things by utilising the didgeridoo, which believe it or not, actually works really well with their music. The instrument was first used in a solo performance, before being brought out again for their song, "Love the Way You Hate Me," and there were other surprises in store too, most notably a cover of the Coolio hit, "Gangsta's Paradise." A great way to start the day.
A little bit of Pop Evil followed, which continued the theme of enjoyable hard rock, before the day's first trip to the Marquee came, this time to check out Winterfylleth. This was another band I was unfamiliar with, despite seeing the name in passing a number of times. I assumed from the name that they were a black metal group, but there's a lot more to them than that. They display an amazing musical talent which goes beyond the simple goal of making music just to be extreme, which some bands are guilty of, and don't conform to the uniform of corpse paint and spikes out of a mistaken sense of obligation, something else young black metal groups have done from time to time. Winterfylleth are another outfit that let the music do most of the talking, which is guaranteed to win over newcomers and please fans who turned up to see these metal Mancunians. More...

If you haven't been paying attention to your Xbox dashboard over the last six months or so, Microsoft is now offering two free games a month for Xbox Gold members: one on the 1st, and another on the 16th of each month.
This month, the first free game is "Sleeping Dogs," a Grand Theft Auto style game in which an undercover cop takes on Chinese triads. Why does this matter to metalheads? Because the game features the ability to flip through radio stations while driving, and one such channel is dedicated entirely to Roadrunner Records. The station features this soundtrack:

DevilDriver, “Dead To Rights” and “Bring The Fight (To The Floor)”
Dream Theater, “On the Backs of Angels”
Fear Factory, “Edgecrusher (Urban Assault Mix)”
Killswitch Engage, “My Curse”
Machine Head, “Be Still and Know” and “Locust”
Opeth, “The Grand Conjuration” and “The Devil’s Orchard”
The Parlor Mob, “After All” and “Take What’s Mine”
