Black Stone Cherry To Enter The Studio On Monday

The following is a message from Black Stone Cherry posted via their official Myspace account:

"Hello fine friends out there!!
It's been a while since we've posted on here, as we've been so busy in pre-production for our 2nd album! We locked ourselves in our practice house in Kentucky and didn't come out until we had the songs we thought you ALL would love! And let us tell ya..you're gonna love 'em!!
Starting this Monday, we'll be at the beautiful Blackbird Studio in Nashville, TN recording our 2nd album with ourselves, Richard Young, and Bob Marlette producing it! We're so excited and can't wait to for you to hear some new music..as well as to release a brand new album hopefully later in the summer this year!! So keep your eyes open and your ears alert for news and video clips we'll be uploading straight from Blackbird Studio! We want YOU to feel just as much a part of this album as anyone..since you are the most important in the whole scheme of things!!

Black Stone Cherry have been receiving alot of positive feedback from their self titles debut album which featured the songs "Hell and High Water" and "Lonely Train". The latter of which was featured in the THQ game, "WWE Smackdown VS Raw 2007".

BSC Added To Def Leppard/ Whitesnake Tour

"We've been wanting to announce this for a long time..and now the time has officially come!
Starting June 17th, we will be touring with the mighty Def Leppard and Whitesnake for a UK arena tour!! We'll be hitting all over England as well as Scotland and we'll be playing for our first time in Ireland!! We are so excited to be going back to the UK...and what a way to do it!!
Also..we'll be adding more summer dates very soon so be on the lookout for more US and European/UK dates!!
We're getting ready to head out to Anaheim, California for the WNAMM show and when we get back we'l begin work on our second album..which by the way...the songs are gonna blow yo mind!!

A Heavy Metal Christmas Song Round-up

Yet another way you can tell metal is on the rise (commercially) is by how many metal Christmas songs are out this year. I don't recall another year that I have heard of more than one or two metal renditions of Christmas songs. This year, however, I've seen postings for more than half a dozen of them - some old, but some new as well. So I've decided to compile a list of these metal Christmas songs so that fans of this sort of thing can listen to and download them while they're still online.

Personally, I'm a sucker for metal Christmas songs, but only if they're done well. I figure if I've got to listen to something, it might as well be heavy or at least have a rock or metal edge to it. Granted, some of these songs are not ultra-heavy, but I find them to be fun expressions for the holiday season by metal bands. Others are parodies of Christmas songs or Christmas itself, and these are usually heavier than the actual Christmas carols.

Black Stone Cherry Issue 1000 Live Record Editions

BLACK STONE CHERRY will play a very special show Wednesday night (October 31) at the Astoria in London, England. The concert will be recorded and available to buy straight after. The CDs will be available from the merchandise stand for £14.11 or £15 when bundled with the band's new digital single "Rain Wizard" (featuring two previously unreleased tracks)

If you are unable to attend the show or live abroad, this limited edition (only 1000 copies made) is available to pre-order now through Concert Live.

BLACK STONE CHERRY's eponymous debut album landed at No. 90 on The Billboard 200 album chart in July 2006, selling more than 10,000 copies in its first week of release.

Roadrunner Records recently uploaded video footage of BLACK STONE CHERRY performing acoustically and being interviewed at Pub Anchor in Stockholm, Sweden. Check it out at this location.

Black Stone Cherry Announce Tour Dates w/ Staind

While still in the midst of touring with Buckcherry, southern heavy-rockers Black Stone Cherry recently announced a North American tour in support of Staind this September. Black Stone Cherry will be playing material from their self-titled debut, Black Stone Cherry, (out July 18th) including the single "Lonely Train," which has been acclaimed for its raw, riff-heavy feel and has gained momentum moving from #21 to #16 on the active rock chart last week. Additionally the single was chosen by the WWE to be the official theme song for their upcoming Pay Per View "Great American Bash" (3 hours of wrestling on Sunday July 23rd, live from Indianapolis). Promotional spots featuring "Lonely Train" for the Bash will start to air this weekend.

Black Stone Cherry are signed to Roadrunner Records through a joint venture with In De Goot Recordings, an offshoot of the management firm run by rock music industry veteran Bill McGathy that represents Shinedown, Theory of a Deadman, Chevelle, Puddle of Mudd and others.

Black Stone Cherry Announce Album Release

Black Stone Cherry have announced the release date for their self-titled debut album as July 18th. The single, "Lonely Train", can be downloaded off iTunes. Also, Black Stone Cherry have relaunced their website available at: BlackStoneCherry.com, and released an ecard here. Finally, Black Stone Cherry have finished making their first music video for "Loney Train," which you can check out here.
