Rigor Mortis Announce Texas Dates

The original RIGOR MORTIS lineup of Bruce Corbitt, Mike Scaccia (MINISTRY, REVOLTING COCKS), Casey Orr (GWAR, X-COPS, THE HELLIONS, THE BURDEN BROTHERS), and Harden Harrison (PERVIS, SPEEDEALER, MITRA), has scheduled the following dates:

Aug. 24 - The Ridglea Theatre - Ft. Worth, TX
Aug. 25 - 710 Club – Austin, TX

RIGOR MORTIS originally formed in 1983 when schoolmates Harden Harrison and Casey Orr met Mike Scaccia. The three shared a love for horror/gore flicks and extremely heavy music, and that recipe helped them create a truly unique form of speed metal that had never been heard before. Within five years they had virtually created the thrash metal scene in Texas and landed a major label deal. In 1988, with Bruce Corbitt on vocals, RIGOR MORTIS released its self-titled debut album on Capitol Records.

Ex-Rigor Mortis Frontman Diagnosed w/ Brain Tumor

Former RIGOR MORTIS vocalist Doyle Bright (photo) (1989's "Freaks" EP and 1991's "Rigor Mortis vs. The Earth") sent Blabbermouth the following message:

"I have been diagnosed with a brain tumor the size of a golf ball. The medication used to try and shrink it has driven my testosterone level to over 1000+... normal is around 500 (anybody wanna form a 'Fight Club'?).

"The rumor mill is churning since the RIGOR MORTIS reunion tour has started, so I wanted to let you guys know the story.

"It is treatable, and 99% chance benign! The tumor was discovered after an MRI in prep for repairing my so-many-times broken nose. Those damn rowdy fans!

"The doctors are trying to shrink it with meds, but it may have to be removed after December 3rd if this round produces no results. They mentioned a miter saw & ice pick combo... or maybe even sending a tiny atom bomb in there to explode it. The specialists have determined that only I could take such a thing ;)

"I've been invited by my bros in RIGOR MORTIS to sing a few songs (about warm cuddly stuffed animals, and teddy bears) with them in Atlanta on November 8th. And I will be doing so.

"After I kick the brain tumor's ass, my band 2PRONGEDCROWN will be active in 2006.

"People can reach me at: db@2prongedcrown.com, or find me on MySpace.com.

"Extremely high testosterone level + Xanax + violent music... I am the perfect storm... and I will return!"
