Strong Intention Streaming New Song

Today Decibel Magazine unveils the sadistic sounds of “3rd Space Guerrilla Generator,” from Maryland powerviolence miscreants Strong Intention. The track comes off the band’s soon-to-be-unleashed "Razorblade Express" EP and features guest vocals by Eyehategod vocalist/wordsmith Mike Williams.

Comments Strong Intention’s founding frontman Zac Ohler of the tune: “The song was written as a quick blast of venom directed towards the ongoing concrete sprawl and urban development around the town I was living in. While the interior of the city and its neighborhoods fell into ruin, crime and squalor, the businessmen were riding the wave of the housing and commercial building boom at the beginning of the decade with no sense of intelligent city planning, destroying miles and miles of green space around the city I once knew.”

Listen to “3rd Space Guerrilla Generator” at this location.

"Razorblade Express" will be released via PATAC Records on June 1st, 2012 with the first pressing limited to just 500 copies. In addition, "Razorblade Express" features bass work by Cattle Decapitation’s Derek Engemann.

Strong Intention has the following upcoming tour dates with Phobia:

Strong Intention To Release "Razorblade Express"

Strong Intention will be releasing the "Razorblade Express" EP this coming June. The following press release was issued about the EP:

"Maryland bands never fall short on extremity. Since the mid-‘90s Strong Intention have been punishing the underground with their own blend of New York-influenced hardcore breakdowns and blistering grindcore. Their unique sound has allowed them the longevity to play out and tour with such undisputed acts as Cripple Bastards, Disfear, Phobia, Extreme Noise Terror, Rotten Sound, D.R.I., Lock-Up and Misery Index, among others over their extensive career… and they're just getting started.

"Strong Intention have an extensive back-catalog of releases behind them and their latest slab of audio discontent is hardly an exception. Entitled Razorblade Express, the six-track behemoth features a bass work by Cattle Decapitation’s Derek Engemann as well as a guest appearance by Eyehategod frontman Mike IX Williams on the title track and '3rd Space Gorilla Generator.' With the first press limited to just 500 copies, this isn't one to sleep on. Give me vinyl or give me death!"

Comments SI founding frontman Zac Ohler: “It’s been far too long since we put out a record, so having these six songs of ‘no hope/no future distort’ released by a killer label and having long time friend Mike IX join us in this act of terrorism seems to be the perfect fit. It’s time to rise and grind!”

"Razorblade Express" will be released via PATAC Records on June 1st, 2012 and has the following track listing: More...

Pit Stories: Stage Dive Fail Without The Stage

We've been talking with bands and fans everywhere to get their mosh pit stories. This week, Zac of Strong Intention shares a story about a house show in Texas that took a turn for the worse:

STRONG INTENTION was playing a house show in Texas once with this killer local band called Sbitch. We were playing in the living room, packed with like 60-70 kids. During our set one kid was thrashing around and ended up completely destroying our drummer and his kit along with it. After we got set back up and starting raging again, a kid decided to create his own version of stage diving, and literally just dove straight out the living room window...the unopened living room window!

While news of Strong Intention has been quiet around here, the band is still playing shows and has a few lined up:

July 5th Baltimore, MD Sonar w/ JUCIFER
July 7th Danbury, CT @ Heirloom Arts w/ JUCIFER
July 8th Brooklyn, NY @ St Vitus w/ SOURVEIN
July 9th Frederick, MD Krug's Place w/ JUCIFER
July 10th Baltimore, MD Ottobar Baltimore w/ SUFFOCATION and REVOCATION

Be sure to check back every Tuesday for more pit stories.
