Background
It all began in 1991, the first of an unholy trinity of demos was complete. The young lads knew they had started something dark; something evil; something out of this world. They didn't disappoint with the release of their debut album 'The Principle of Evil Made Flesh' in 1994 on the label Cacophonous. The full length CD was a menagerie of gothic keyboards, metal riffing and Vampyric imagery. In other words the ultimate hammer horror soundtrack.
Drawing from an incredibly infinite list of influences, including the likes of Bathory, Celtic Frost and Diamanda Galas, and also the literary genius of Lord Byron, Sheridan LeFanu, Friedrich Nietzsche, Bram Stoker and Charles Baudelaire, Cradle Of Filth have produced albums of ever increasing quality. Soaring, sonic masterpieces that envelop you and take you away into the darkest depths of the collective Cradle mind. A dreamlike place full of legend, myths and Vampyres.
With 10 years in the past, Cradle Of Filth only have the future to conquer. Their recent concerts have built a fan base they never dreamed of. They truly have withstood the test of time.

Nuclear Blast To Release New Cradle of Filth Album
On November 9, 2010 Cradle of Filth will have their latest album issued in North America by Nuclear Blast. The band signed with Peaceville Records earlier this year and the release will be a collaborative effort.
Frederick Jude, Managing Director of Peaceville Records, comments on this upcoming cooperative effort: "Football aside, we’re pleased to be teaming up with Nuclear Blast on this very important release. Given their resources, interest in the band, and track record in the U.S., we believe CRADLE OF FILTH will be best positioned to better the sales of their last album in North America."
This month, vocalist Dani Filth, guitarists Paul Allender and James McIlroy, bassist David Pybus, drummer Martin Skaroupka and keyboard player Ashley Ellyllon enter Monkey Puzzle Studios near Bury St. Edmunds in Suffolk, England to begin work on the follow-up to 2008’s "Godspeed On The Devil's Thunder." CRADLE OF FILTH will compose another concept album, this time based on Adam's first wife, the lascivious demoness Lilith. "Throwing medieval nuns, Knights Templars, Greek mythology, lashings of sex, occult lore, and violent bloodshed together into a creative milieu, the band are poised to create a darkly erotic nightmare set to their unique scope of supreme vampyric metal," states the press release in regard to the new album.

Cradle Of Filth Signs To Peaceville
Cradle Of Filth is set to unleash their latest release through Peaceville Records in October of 2010. Peaceville issued the following statement about the signing:
"Never shy of embracing the epic, Cradle have constantly sought to push the boundaries of their art. Whether through elaborately theatrical stage shows (incorporating giant lumbering puppets, fire-breathing dancers, freaks and stilt-walkers from the notorious Circus Of Horrors), provocative merchandise (including the now legendary ‘Jesus Is A Cunt’ t-shirt), breathtaking artwork or the weighty subject matter of their albums (their latest one was a concept album telling the story of a French Lord who fought alongside Joan Of Arc, before embarking on a horrific killing spree), this is a band who have refused to be confined by the labels that have been placed on them.
"The band enters Monkey Puzzle studios near Bury St Edmunds in Suffolk this month to start work on their new album, the follow up to 2008’s Godspeed on the Devil's Thunder. Cradle Of Filth remain stalwarts to the satanic horror ethos by again composing a fully blown concept album, this time based on Adam's first wife, the lascivious Demoness Lilith; throwing Medieval nuns, Knights Templars, Greek mythology and lashings of sex, occult lore and violent bloodshed into the smelting pot, to create a darkly erotic nightmare set to their unique scope of supreme vampyric metal. Cradle Of Filth Issues Band Update
Cradle Of Filth front man Dani Filth has issued the following band update:
"Greetings to all you merchants of menace and skinny villainesses, Dani here again with a belated update on all things fantastic and filthy;
"At the time of writing, September is almost through, with skies fire-paved and a gorgeous Indian Summer settling like a phoenix on the East coast of England, the last few weeks finding me extremely busy with the trivialities of being at home and working in a band at the same time. Thus creativity has flourished under this wonderful boon and the first ideas for a new Cradle album have started to creep and crawl in the far-flung shadows of our combined imaginations. Bearing in mind we have merely the skeletal structures of a few songs laid out, that Autumnal vibe is already spreading like a mist, and the tunes are sounding very malefic indeed. Very much like the 'Godspeed...' album thrust up a gear.
"Paul has moved to a luxury apartment on the dockside quay in Ipswich, the apocalyptic vision of a reddened sun split by the thin silhouettes of bobbing yacht masts, highly inspirational, tempering his writing with furious abandonment. In the meantime Martin is hard at work on his practice kit back in the Czech Republic, providing the midi backbone to Paul's initial structures, which are then later embellished by guitars and keyboards. Luckily Dave lives in spitting distance of Paul's new gaff, so he's in partnership with the basic skeleton of every track, which is then flown past Ashley (who has just moved this week from Phoenix to LA...), who then goes all symphonic on it's rugged ass. Things therefore are moving well towards our new, as-yet-untitled album, with a possible studio start date of early January to be ringed in all gothic diaries. Bring it on! More...

Cradle Of Filth Speaks On Bloodstock Incident
As was previously reported, British metal outfit Cradle Of Filth was forced to cut their set short at the Bloodstock Open Air festival after one of the members was hit by an object thrown by a member of the audience. The band has issued a statement about the incident which reads as follows:
"COF would just like to apologise to all COF fans at Bloodstock for not being able to perform the full length of set on Saturday. This was due to a selfish and stupid person in the crowd throwing dangerous objects at the band and injuring Paul, who then had to be hospitalised.
"This person threw what were being sold at the site as ‘gobstoppers’, but which were actually heavy, solid, pieces of candy, approximately the size of a cricket ball and weighing close to a pound, at the band. Approximately 6 of these were thrown, one narrowly missed hitting Ashley in the face and also a terminally ill young fan in a wheelchair sitting side of the stage, a couple just missed Dani and then one hit Paul in the spine, causing him to collapse. The paramedics called an ambulance and Paul was taken to hospital with suspected spinal damage; where he was subjected to numerous tests before the doctors said they didn’t think Paul had sustained any lasting damage.
"This act of stupidity caused the show to finish prior to the encore, caused Paul serious pain and everyone else a lot of anxiety. This person is lucky that no one was seriously injured or worse, which could easily have been the case and a serious police matter. More...

"Greetings from the pearl and poo-strewn gutters of heaven!
"First things first then. The long Summer months are finally upon us and here in the rustic backwaters of England they have brought with them some surprisingly hot weather, that is of course unless I decide to wash my car and then, lo and behold, the rain clouds come amassing just like they did minutes before the band played at Sonisphere in Sweden recently. And just like they did in Oz. And in Finland. And, and, and. More on this in good time...

Cradle Of Filth Issues New Tour Blog
Cradle of Filth front man Dani Filth has issued the following tour blog:
"G'day sports! How the flamin' 'ell are ya?
"Since my last entry we have also undertaken the Australian leg of our world tour, playing Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane respectively, complete with the return of Charles Hedger on guitar, with James coming back for the forthcoming Finnish gig. It was pretty grueling on the traveling front, mainly because of the initial 23 hour flight to get there, where the jet-lag was continually being topped up by further internal flights, although these were on every other day, save for Sydney (where we played a row of two shows at the same venue).
