Officium Triste Checks In With Road Report

Dutch act Officium Triste has checked in with the following road report about recent van problems:

"That was some weekend. On our way to Hamburg our rental van broke down, the gearbox completely died. So, there we were just south of Bremen on the A1 highway at 15.30. So we called the the Dutch Alarmcentral, who contacted the ADAC. In the end we had to wait for 3 hours with temperatures below zero.

"The towtruck got the van off the highway. The alarmcentral arranged replacement transport. 2 cars instead of a 9-seater van. We had to bring Isole from Hamburg to helmond, so space was limited with 2 cars.

"Anyway, to make a long story short, we arrived around 22.45 at the venue where we were supposed to be at 17.00. Luckily Ophis was so great to switch the place on the bill and we did a great show, if I may say so. Travelling to Helmond went without problems and that show was cool too. In short, a weekend to remember!!"

Officium Triste Issues Band Update

Dutch metallers Officium Triste have checked in with the following band update about recruiting a new drummer and working on a new album:

"2010 is already 3 months on its way so it is about time to let you all know what’s going on with Officium Triste. We’ve got some bad news and some more exciting news. Let’s start with the bad news. We had to part ways with drummer Ronald Lagerwaard. Ronald simply couldn’t commit to the plans we have concerning Officium Triste’s future. Because of this we had to make a difficult decision as we really appreciated Ronald as a person and as a skilled drummer. As a band we do want to perform live on a regular basis and that simply wasn’t possible due to logistics and personal affairs. We like to thank Ronald for his time in Officium Triste.

"In the meantime we have found a replacement. After some serious brainstorming who would be an ideal drummer we decided to ask Niels Jordaan who in the past pounded the drums for the now defunct band In Age And Sadness. Since we shared the stage with In Age And Sadness several times in the past we knew Niels would be a good replacement. Niels gladly accepted our offer and we are currently rehearsing material with Niels.

"Next to the news about out change in the line-up we are working very hard on material for our new, 5th, full-length album. Right now we have plenty of ideas for 6 to 7 new songs and it’s coming along nicely. We hope to finish the album before the summer and have it released this fall. This will be our last album under the current contract with Displeased Records. At this moment we are also negotiating a couple of festival appearances later this year. More news about those performances is expected soon."

Officium Triste Announce Lineup Change

Dutch "atmospheric doomsters" OFFICIUM TRISTE have issued the following update:

"Once again we can inform you about a change within OFFICIUM TRISTE's lineup.

"After much thought, Martin [Kwakernaak] has decided to quit drumming and start focusing on the synth-parts. As one of the main composers he has always had a big influence on the music and especially the synths. So, from now on he'll be doing the synths and he keeps on writing music. His decision has a lot to do with the fact he's living in Germany and he feels he cannot deliver what is needed for the band when talking about rehearsing and doing live gigs. Therefore, Martin has decided to switch to synths exclusively. This will give the band much more opportunities and we're happy to see Martin in this setting. We are also very happy to announce that all drum duties will be taken over by Ronald Lagerwaard (ex-IMBOLC, ABSENT MIND, PERPETUAL MISERY) from now on. He has proven to be a great drummer and is very motivated to be part of the tight rhythm section for OFFICIUM TRISTE."
