"This new STEMM CD is our 'Vulgar Display of Power'" states lead vocalist / guitarist Joe Cafarella.
Comparing their latest release, "Blood Scent" (Catch 22 Records) to the epic release by the metal gods, Pantera is admittedly making a bold statement, but Cafarella will not budge in his reasoning. "There is a lot that went into the making of this CD. We are not saying that we are the next Pantera, that’s not even close to what I am saying. We just wanted to make a CD that would not pigeon hole us into a certain cliché sound. Let’s face it, Pantera made it on their live performances. While MTV was playing ‘Walk’ and ‘This Love’ us metal heads were cranking Fucking Hostile and Mouth for War. I am telling you that you will get that same type of feeling on the new STEMM CD as you would listening to Vulgar. And it’s just as real…"
"e never followed the rules" says Cafarella. "Our entire career we have felt like the underdogs. No matter how many hoops we jumped through for the industry people, it just wasn’t good enough." But STEMM found an ally in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) who took a liking to the band in the beginning stages of their musical career branding them as "The soundtrack to the UFC. "We wrote a song called 'Face the Pain,' which became the theme song for the UFC." "The song honestly doesn’t represent what we stand as today musically because we were a young band when we wrote the song." laughs Cafarella. But, the UFC still uses the song for all pay-per-view events as well as many other STEMM songs from the bands musical library which is also heard as background music for UFC / SPIKE TV programs "Ultimate Fighter" and "Unleashed" "We’re honored to be recognized in the MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) community and be able to cross over aggressive music with aggressive sport."
At press time it was also confirmed that the track "House of Cards" from the new STEMM release, "Blood Scent," was selected as the theme song for "UFC Wired," hosted by Joe Rogan (Fear Factor / UFC commentator) on the Fox Network for the 2008 / 2009 season.
New York metallers, Stemm, have announced the official tracklisting and artwork for their upcoming album, "Blood Scent," which has a scheduled release date of November 11th.
The tracklisting for "Blood Scent" is as follows:
2. House Of Cards
3. One King Down
5. The Devil Walks Among Us
6. Broken Face Masterpiece
7. As Real As It Gets
9. Beneath My Skin
10. Never Will I Break
11. Casualty For Prayer
Stemm will be issuing the first 1,000 copies of "Blood Scent" will be coupled with a full length DVD.
STEMM return to the studio to write new material for their upcoming 2008 release. STEMM is most widely recognized as the band who plays the theme/intro music for The Ultimate Fighting Championship. Their music can also be heard on Spike TV commercials and UFC spin off shows such as Ultimate Fighter.
"Hello my friends I apologize that is has been so long since you have heard from me. However I just wanted to make sure that I was in a clear head space so I could articulate myself properly. I'm sure by now many of you have heard that I am no longer in the band. So I wanted to let you all know what's going with me that lead to the current situation..."
"First of all I would like to thank all of you that have been there with me over the course of the past few years. Recently I have been reflecting on so many things that have gone on in my life since the inception of this band. I've been thinking about all the great shows, good times, and the way our lives have been forever intertwined by stories, and moments we have shared. I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for allowing me to be part of your lives."
"Which leads me to the next portion of my explanation. I want to give you a little background of the events that have lead us to this point in time. I'm sorry that this is going to be so lengthy, but I didn't know how cut it down and still get across everything I am feeling, and frankly I felt I owed it to you since you all have been such a big part of my life." "There have been a few rumors going around about the band that we would like to put to rest."
"Apparently, a rumor has surfaced that vocalist TJ Frost has left STEMM to join…SLAYER…"
"This is not true in any account…I honestly do not know why I am addressing this rumor…I think I just became dumber while trying to put this one to bed…Even TJ laughed when he heard that rumor!"
"The 2nd rumor is that TJ has left the band to move to California."
"This rumor is in fact…TRUE…"
"Two weeks ago, TJ had informed us that he is going to be leaving for California. TJ himself will be issuing a statement to all of you very soon for his reasons." More...

Stemm post the following message on their Myspace:
"That's right everyone, after years of work, STEMM has officially signed a deal!
Feel free to hit up the labels myspace site and welcome I Scream Records to the STEMM family!!! After all, we couldn't have done this without you, the fans!!! Our work has only begun, so help spread the good news!!!
Below is the official release from the label's site.
I Scream Records welcomes Stemm:
Buffalo, NY based Stemm is proud to announce that they've signed an agreement with I Scream Records. "It's been a long time coming for this band" says TJ Frost of Stemm "We've been busting our ass' for a while now and it's really great to finally have a label like I Scream Records step up and give us the opportunity to get our music to markets we haven't reached yet. It's an honor to be part of the I Scream family and we look forward to a long healthy relationship." In recent years, Stemm has gained nationwide exposure as a result of their association with companies such as the UFC, The Fight Network and Jagermeister Music. "Songs For The Incurable Heart" is set for release in the USA on October 10th 2006. In the meantime check 'em out on their myspace site here."
Western New York-based metal band STEMM have released an e-card featuring two tracks from their upcoming CD, "Songs for the Incurable Heart" (due on November 15). The song "13 Years" features a guest appearance on vocals by CHIMAIRA frontman Mark Hunter and was produced by Mike Hatalak of IT DIES TODAY.
Buffalo News recently had the following to say about STEMM: "Building a strong and loyal local following wasn't enough for these boys; they needed to take it outside. In the process the group nailed relationships with professional wrestling's Ultimate Fighting Championship — STEMM's original theme song has prefaced every pay-per-view event by the UFC since 2002. The group has composed soundtrack material for Xbox games; toured with and opened for the likes of CHIMAIRA, MUSHROOMHEAD, TRIVIUM, RUN-DMC, SEVENDUST, ILL NINO, MACHINE HEAD, NOTHINGFACE and BLEED THE SKY; and garnered airplay on Music Choice's metal station."
