Sect To Release New Album "No Cure For Death"
Following the signing of North American hardcore group Sect to Southern Lord earlier this year, the band has since completed recording the second full-length, and label debut, "No Cure For Death" and with plans to release the album on November 24th.
"No Cure For Death" was recorded with Kurt Ballou at GodCity Studios and mastered by Alan Douches at West West Side Music. Check out brand new footage of the recording sessions in the player at the bottom.
Comprised of an international cast of scene veterans, who cut their teeth in that formative moment of political, cynical, antagonistic extremes, Sect unites vocalist Chris Colohan (Cursed, Burning Love, Left For Dead), guitarists James Chang (Catharsis, Undying) and Scott Crouse (Earth Crisis, The Path Of Resistance), bassist Steve Hart (Day Of Suffering), and drummer Andy Hurley (Racetraitor, Fall Out Boy, The Damned Things). The result of these musicians' alignment is a caustic, riotous, belligerent style of vile hardcore fed by a boundless well of socio-political vitriol. More...
Sect Inks Deal With Southern Lord
Southern Lord has signed North American hardcore outfit Sect, comprised of an international cast of scene veterans hailing from the likes of Cursed, Burning Love, Earth Crisis, Catharsis, Undying, and Day Of Suffering.
The result of these musicians' alignment is a caustic, riotous, belligerent style of vile hardcore fed by a boundless well of socio-political vitriol. The band unites vocalist Chris Colohan (Cursed, Burning Love, Left For Dead), guitarists James Chang (Catharsis, Undying) and Scott Crouse (Earth Crisis, The Path Of Resistance), bassist Steve Hart (Day Of Suffering), and drummer Andy Hurley (Racetraitor, Fall Out Boy, The Damned Things).
Offers Colohan of signing with Southern Lord: "My rule of thumb with labels these days is to work with one that I own at least five LPs from. Smart music business opportunities don't mean shit without a true respect for each others' tastes, aesthetic and passions. More...
