Recording with Basti is always a huge challenge for every musician, but we had a great time while writing 'The Arsonist.' I already like my new job and I'm glad to know, that everybody else in the band is happy with the solution we found."

The band's new LP "The Arsonist" is due out on July 26th, 2013 via Napalm Records. The track listing is as follows: More...

Deadlock Splits With Guitarist

Deadlock has checked in with the following announcement about parting ways with the band's guitarist:

"Another chapter of the Deadlock story has ended these days. In a friendly manner guitarist Gert Rymen has decided to part ways. The band wishes him all the best for his future and his family! It was always a pleasure to have you on stage!"

Gert also comments: “After 8 years of being in deadlock I decided to leave the band. Mostly my job and my family life are the main reasons for my exit. My music taste has been changing a lot in the past years and it just drifted too far away from the songs that deadlock is playing now.

"I am sure that I will miss the fun that we had on the road but I think it’s the right decision for me. I thank Deadlock for the great time we had together, and i wish them the best for the future.

"I also thank the following persons who also are or were a big part of deadlock: Joe Prem, Tom Huschka, Stefan Huschka, Tobi Anders, Stefan Lifeforce, Slayer, Erik, Stephan Scherer, Stephan at Meinl distribution, Hando, Schrörg, the Graf Family and the Reichl Family and of course all the fans that have been supporting us all the time.”

Deadlock Announces New Lineup

After having recently announced the departure of singer Johannes Prem, Deadlock is now introducing the band's new line-up.

For the new guy behind the microphone Deadlock found a band-internal solution with John Gahlert, who played bass so far. He already helped out a couple of times and proofed his vocal qualities very well.

The vacant position on the bass is taking over long time friend, driver, merch guy, and tour manager Ferdinand Rewicki. For the band it was no question that Ferdinand is the perfect addition for Deadlock on bass.

The new line-up can be checked on the following upcoming dates:

03.12.2011 Annaberg-Buchholz (D) - Alte Brauerei
27.12.2011 Oberhausen (D) - Zentrum Altenberg

Deadlock Splits With Vocalist

Germany’s Deadlock and singer Joe Prem have decided to part ways. The band has announced the remainder of the shows for 2011 will still be played, with full details as follows:

03.12.2011 Annaberg-Buchholz (D) – Alte Brauerei
27.12.2011 Oberhausen (D) – Zentrum Altenberg
28.12.2011 Zürich (CH) – Dynamo Werk 21
29.12.2011 Ebersbach (D) – OKV
30.12.2011 Glauchau (D) – Alte Spinnerei

Deadlock has already recruited a new vocalist, who will be revealed shortly. The band will also start the writing process soon for a new full-length album.

Former Deadlock vocalist Johannes Prem commented on leaving the band:

"After over 15 years of heavy music and being one of the founding members of Deadlock it is time to start a new chapter in my life. It was not an easy decision for me to split ways with my longtime friends but as life goes on everybody has to learn where to set his priorities. Having a great job and a perfect little family there is simply not enough time to give Deadlock the attention and time it deserves.

"So it is time to say a big thank you to all the people I met during that time and to all those friends that will always be part of my life. Deadlock to me always was so much more than just music, it was all about a strong message, a lifestyle and being on the road and party with friends, but times are changing and so I will search for new ways to give my thoughts and emotions a voice.

"It was a great time to be on the road with best friends, sharing so many funny moments we will laugh about for the rest of our lives (Tobi and Gert know what I talk about), having a musical genius that gave my lyrics the base (thanks for that Sebastian), having a beautiful voice on my side, that became more and more to the Deadlock trademark (Thanks Sabine). And thanks to all the people that worked for or with us throughout those years. All the best to the new Deadlock team. I will never forget those years."
