In Flames Bassist Checks In From Gigantour
IN FLAMES bassist Peter Iwers has checked in from the Gigantour 2008 with the following update:
"We are now about four weeks into the tour and we’re still very psyched about all the great feedback we have gotten throughout the tour. Right now we’re all in the bus trying to determine today’s setlist. As you might now we try to flip flop some songs everyday to keep it more interesting for everybody, which is more fun than just sticking to the same one all the time.
Tomorrow is an off show in Omaha and even then it’s hard to decide a list to keep everyone happy, so I guess we’ll have to play for 3 hours :)
Hope to see all of you there. Cheers."

Mustaine's Smaller Gigantour Returns Strongly
The Bell Center is a pretty good venue in terms of size and sound quality, but for those of us who weren’t able to buy ground tickets before they sold out, the seats were a bit lame. I don’t want to complain, but the bands were really far away – you try headbanging from the stands with five inches of standing room without bashing into the people standing nearly on top of you.
On the other hand, the people-watching in the large arena was excellent, particularly because Megadeth tends to draw metal fans as well as metalheads. By this, I refer to the hordes of young teenage boys flocking to the over-priced merchandise stands to don $40 Megadeth tees as their girlfriends went about in whatever Hot Topic is peddling to the angsty-girl demographic these days. On the opposite end of the spectrum, overweight middle-aged men guzzled down expensive beer and sat in their seats looking bewildered until Megadeth came on. Before I become too disparaging of the crowd, however, I am compelled to note that the enormous pit where people are typically embroiled in hockey battling looked like a great deal of fun from where I was sitting. In Flames Checks In From Gigantour
In Flames, who are currently performing on the Gigantour with Megadeth, Children Of Bodom, High On Fire and Job For A Cowboy, have posted the following message:
“We have now done NEARLY half of the tour and so far things are going great. It feels really good to be out playing live again and to, finally, be able to play the new songs for you all. Hope you who have seen the shows enjoyed it as much as we have!
All the other bands on the tour are awesome and we are having a great time!
See you soon for more shows around the globe.”
Volbeat To Sit Out of In Flames European Tour
Danish metallers VOLBEAT have released the following statement:
"As you all could read on various websites, VOLBEAT were invited to be part of the IN FLAMES European tour this fall."
"It was a great honor to be asked to share stage with these guys. We are very thankful but in the last days we decided not to do this tour, 'cause of different terms/teasons which not benefits the band the right way."
"We know that is was a great opportunity, but we felt like we need to do it on our own and not on terms of other people. We need to promote the upcoming record in the best way for us right now. So don't be disappointed because we are working on our own tour for 2008 right now. You will get 100% VOLBEAT instead of 50%."
"Watch out for the dates and we hope to see and meet you all during the festival season."
