"Having enjoyed 10 wonderful years of playing shows, it just feels like the right time to cross that finish line. The Chariot was never put on this earth to 'overstay our welcome.' I believe we did exactly what we came to do, and now it is time to move onward. Thank you."
The band will do one last farewell tour, which is set to span October 10th through November 16th. Additional acts playing the farewell tour include Glass Cloud, Rebuker, Birds In Row, and To The Wind. Dates are as follows: More...

The Chariot, which is heading out on tour with Hundredth and Impending Doom this October, has debuted a brand new track titled "In" via Altpress.com. Click here to listen to the track. "This song was originally going to be the opening track to 'One Wing.' It was a last minute decision to move it further in down list, and I think it was for the better." says frontman Josh Scogin. The Chariot will release "One Wing" on August 28th, 2012.
Scogin continues, "The song still has the strength of an opener but this record is a journey and for that reason alone it belongs at track 7. One Wing was designed to be heard in chronological order but having said that, I think this song does a pretty good job standing all alone as well."
The album's track listing is:

The Chariot recently signed to Season of Mist and will release a fifth album entitled "One Wing" on September 21st. A teaser for the album is now available online and can be viewed below. The "One Wing" track listing is:
Season of Mist just signed a new record deal with U.S. act The Chariot in Europe. The label commented:
"The Chariot are true artists whose determined passions lead them down winding pathways as they buck trends and avoid formulas. The noisy, rambling, shambling, Southern-fried, punk-infused, heavy hardcore band has long rejected the conventions of the genre that surrounds them by refusing to conform to established structures. The Chariot's sound and presentation owe more to At The Drive In, Refused, Nirvana, or eve The Sex Pistols in spirit and vibe than the formulaic processed sounds of their contemporaries."
The band's fifth album is entitled "One Wing" and will be released in Europe through Season of Mist on September 21st. Here are the cover artwork and tracklisting:
The Chariot has released a behind the scenes clip of the band's time in the studio recording the upcoming record "One Wing," due out August 28th, 2012 via eOne Music / Good Fight Music. Scream The Prayer is a touring metal and hardcore festival of sorts, already in its fourth year, that packs the stage with bands that specialize in redefining what counts as a Christian worship service. The bands associated with the tour this year are as follows: Norma Jean, Sleeping Giant, The Chariot, War of Ages, Close Your Eyes, Texas In July, I The Breather, The Great Commission, As Hell Retreats, and Sovereign Strength. From beginning to end, each band worked towards bringing the word of God to the masses in the form of relentless heavy metal.
Regardless of your stance on religion, you have to commend these bands for their drive. On July 1st, I was on hand to catch the first date of this 2011 tour. More...
