Darkest Hour Announces U.S. And European Tours

Washington, DC metalcore pioneers, Darkest Hour, announce a run of West Coast tour dates for December, with a nine-city co-headlining tour alongside Unearth.

Offers Darkest Hour, "2019, we are not done with you yet. Just added some shows on the West Coast with our dudes in Unearth! We have seen all the amazing feedback from you all, and we have listened. Both bands will be playing FULL headlining, rip'n, face melting sets. We have had a ton of fun all over the world with Unearth and we are stoked to slide these dates in before the end of the year. We have some huge things in store for 2020 but if you live in these cities come out and party like its 1999 with us and Unearth!"

A month later, Darkest Hour will kick off 2020 with a return to Europe for a sixteen-city special 25th anniversary tour, where they'll be joined by special guests Fallujah, Bloodlet, Une Misere, and Lowest Creature.

The band comments, "It is with extreme excitement that we announce what we hope to be one of many tour's next year celebrating our 25th anniversary! Over these past twenty-five years we have toured with both new and established bands and have always worked hard to make our tour packages diverse and interesting. This tour is in keeping with that tradition. Fallujah is ripping progressive death metal who have had our attention for a while, can't wait to see these riffs live. Bloodlet is a very special band to us. One of our early influences, it is EASY to say we would not be a band (or at least not the same band) without their influence. We grew up going to their shows and it's a joy to be able to share the stage with them. We got to see Une Misere play this summer and were impressed, insanely heavy, Icelandic mosh of the highest form. Lowest Creature is a killer blend of classic metal elements we all love translated with a new and distinctly Swedish twist. Oh, and you know we will have a few surprises planned for this set special 25th anniversary set. See you in the pit!"

Bloodlet To Release Record Store Day 12"

Following initial announcements on three exclusive titles for Record Store Day 2014 -- splits from Full Of Hell/Psywarfare, Noisem/Occultist and Integrity/Vegas -- A389 Recordings confirms one more special platter for release that day, in the form of a full Bloodlet radio set from the mid 1990's.

After culling the defunct Bloodlet out of nonexistence for an exclusive reunion in January, in conjunction with a previously unreleased mid-90s single in the form of the "Embrace" 7" and a remastered version of the seminal "Entheogen" album on 2xLP, the "Live On WFUM-FM" 12" was recorded at longtime North New Jersey underground music station, WFMU. The performance took place on March 23rd, 1995. More...

Bloodlet Reissues Coming In February

The A389 Recordings X Bash is upon us this weekend, with dozens of bands and thousands of fans converging upon Baltimore, Maryland in celebration of the label's first full ten years in existence.

Among the vast roster of warriors set to perform, one of the headlining highlights of the fest is the one-time reunion of Florida's metalcore pioneers, Bloodlet.

Directly following the initial confirmation of the band's reformation for the Bash, A389 also announced the upcoming release of two recordings from Bloodlet, both of which are now locked for release on February 7th. The label comments:

"Their inventive, ominous style of swamp-born metalcore is relived once again on the recently unearthed and 1994 demo track, 'Embrace,' recorded alongside the band's archetypal 'Shell' and 'Cheribum' tracks, yet was never released. The lost track was discovered by hardcore webzine XStuckInThePastX and shared the masters with A389 Recordings, who will unleash an official 7" single of the track, now available for preorder on red or black wax with a B-side etching of the magic circle.

"The same day, A389 will dispatch a special reissue of Bloodlet's landmark debut LP, Entheogen, which Victory Records initially released in early 1996. Through the direct cooperation with Victory, the new edition of the mighty Entheogen will see a deluxe 2xLP pressing, for the first time ever delivering the seminal release on wax in its complete and correct playing sequence, fully remastered at Audiosiege and spread across two 12" records cut at 45 RPM for optimum sound quality. This deluxe reissue also features a huge 24"x36" poster insert of Aaron Turner's (Isis) incredible cover artwork, and is being released as a one-time pressing of 1000 copies to coincide with the band's solitary reunion at the A389 Recordings X Anniversary Bash." Bloodlet To Release Unearthed Recordings

Following the recent proclamation that defunct metalcore pioneers Bloodlet will make a special one-time appearance -- reuniting for the A389 X Bash in January -- today the label also proudly confirms two special pending releases from the band in 2014.

First up, A389 will drop an unreleased Bloodlet demo, recorded in 1994. The track, called "Embrace," was recorded with several other songs prior to the release of the band's debut LP, "Entheogen."

A track which ran astray from the others recorded in the same sessions -- "Shell" and "Cheribum" appearing on the band's "Shell" 7", and then re-appeared on the Eclectic singles compilation LP -- Bloodlet's early metalcore is relived once again in "Embrace." The lost track was discovered by hardcore webzine XStuckInThePastX and shared the masters with A389 Recordings, who will now release an official 7" version of the track in January 2014.

The "Embrace" 7" will tie directly into band's first performance in over ten years, with a one-time reunion at the A389 X Bash the weekend of January 17th and 18th in Baltimore, Maryland.

In addition, A389 is also collaborating with Victory Records on a special reissue of Bloodlet's landmark debut LP, "Enthogen," which Victory initially released in early 1996. The new edition will be released in a deluxe 2xLP in the coming months pending the completion of the remastering sessions, currently going down at Audiosiege.
