Devilment Posts Live Video Online
Witch County nefarious frights Devilment - led by vehement frontman Dani Filth - have released an official live music video for the track "Hell At My Back," which was shot during the band's storming set at Bloodstock Open Air Festival last year. You can check it out below.
The band states: "The live video for 'Hell At My Back’ was taken from Devilment’s performance at Bloodstock 2017, which was an awesome show played at an awesome festival. We had quite a riot at Bloodstock that year, with some truly unforgettable moments courtesy of meeting bands and friends amid many alcoholic beverages. This was actually the last show for both Lauren and Nick, who left the band amicably not long after the show for commitments in the real world.
'"Hell At My Back' is a precursor to our forthcoming appearance at this year’s HRH Metal III. Lyrically, the protagonist of the song is constantly haunted by his past, hunted by the horrors he has confronted since time immemorial. Awful things he has done in the name of love. But it is again another song of defiance, of staying the inevitable, of the eternal struggle of 'being’. Of evading the clutching powers of Hell." More...

When recalling one of their many meetings, Dani comments: "He came to say hello after a show we played in LA and I was that [flustered] trying to put a top on I fell through the curtain, fell down the stairs and somebody opened the door and I literally fell into him and headbutted him. But he didn't mind at all! People see him as this arrogant man... I've heard all the tales... But last time I saw him, everybody was backstage. Me, my wife and my daughter where literally sitting up on stage to watch him. He's let me do that about three times."

Today, the band releases a new animated lyric video for the third single "Full Dark, No Stars" (animated by Sophie Bedborough and editing by Sam Scott-Hunter).
"The title for this song is taken from a Stephen King horror anthology, much as the title of our first album was lifted from a book by Clive Barker ('The Great And Secret Show') though there is no correlation between the book and the song, other than it represents a bleak period; a state of wanton depression; an absence of being," Dani recounts. "It is, much like many songs on this album, about regaining the light, the overcoming of demons, and of triumphing over the immense shadow of fear itself." More...

Devilment will release new album "Devilment II: The Mephisto Waltzes" on November 18th via Nuclear Blast Entertainment. Today, the band reveals a first track from the album, entitled "Under The Thunder."
Frontman Dani Filth recounts the meaning of the song: "A forced hand. A warning. A call to arms. Retribution undertaken by a wronged nation double-crossed on the land of their noble forbears. The song is a powerful metaphor for justified retaliation, on a common enemy and the onset of the storm.” More...
Devilment Reveals New Album
Devilment - led by vehement frontman Dani Filth - is incredibly pleased to announce "Devilment II: The Mephisto Waltzes" be released by Nuclear Blast Entertainment on the 18th of November, 2016.
Dani had this to say on the subject of the new record: “Everybody in Devilment is very excited about the prospect of releasing our latest album, ‘II – The Mephisto Waltzes’, which we have worked extremely hard on. The album is definitely a step-up from our debut, featuring a more mature, dissonant presence coupled with a darker edge, yet at the same time utilising our better musical assets to deliver a unique metal hybrid. I don't even know what to classify it!”
Assisted by long-time collaborators Lauren Francis (keys and vocals), Colin Parks (guitar), Nick Johnson (bass) and new drummer Matt Alston, Dani has arrived at the telling moment where Devilment becomes a genuine force to be reckoned with.
Regarding the album’s artwork, Dani revealed: “Winner of many international awards, the artist for the new Devilment album is Elena Vizerskayaaka Kassandra, whose photography and photo-manipulation perfectly complements the mysterious and magickal world of Devilment. Elena's work is sometimes compared to Dali and Magritte due to the complexity of artistic figures and the perceptible amount of layers, something to be felt and not necessarily understood, exotic dreams filled with reflections and allusion.
"I have been a fan of Elena's work for a long while now and had originally wanted to utilize it for the Cradle Of Filth album, 'The Manticore And Other Horrors' as far back as 2011, which only fell through when band politics intervened and an in-house label artist was used instead. More...
Devilment Recruits New Drummer
Devilment is wrapping up work on the follow-up album to "The Great And Secret Show," and now the band is officially announced the recruitment of a new drummer, issuing this statement:
"In all the excitement yesterday mastering the Devilment album, we forgot to introduce our new drummer Matt Alston (already about to be deceased by Colin and Nick in the picture below) who has played his little black heart out on our latest opus nocturne.
"Matt replaces former skinsman Aaron Boast, who departed earlier in the year to pursue a different career (though I still see him to play football every Wednesday evening with our 'Metal Gods' seven-a-side team).
"So the second Devilment album is now finished - thank the stars - so now it's time for finishing up the booklet artwork and organising our customary and much-needed celebratory band piss-up! L-R Matt Alston, Fani Dilth, Lauren Francis, Colin Parks, Nick Johnson in jovial mood." More...

"Everybody in Devilment is very excited about the prospect of releasing our latest album, which we have worked extremely hard on (te-he! He said 'hard-on')... The album is definitely a step-up from our debut, featuring a more mature, dissonant presence coupled with a darker edge, yet at the same time utilising our better musical assets to deliver a unique metal hybrid. I don't even know what to classify it! And of course, it's going to be awesome touring this in our home nation just before Xmas. We literally can't wait; the shows are going to be insane!" More...
Devilment Posts Behind The Scenes Footage
Devilment just released a making-of clip for the official music video "Sanity Hits A (Perfect) Zero," a track taken off teh band's debut album "The Great And Secret Show."
Check out this clip below, and you can see the original full video for "Sanity Hits A (Perfect) Zero" at this location. Dani Filth states:
"It was enormous fun filming the video for 'Sanity Hits A (Perfect) Zero' as it was decided that it would appear very chaotic, retro and dirty from an early stage, as if the discovered film stock had slightly perished with age, bringing with it a psychedelically lurid post-apocalyptic vision.
"The whole experience was undertaken close to home in Suffolk at a countryside scrapyard, with friends and performers being assembled, dressed, watered and fed by the extended Devilment family, with a crew 'borrowed' from the local university. In essence it was very much an underground guerrilla effort, the spirit of which we intended to capture on a day which fortunately fell between two bouts of horrible stormy weather, thus enabling the use of flame on what was essentially a fuel-soaked death trap waiting to ignite.
"Still, all's Hell that ends well, and we think the finished video (perfectly) compliments the madness and feral metallic adrenaline of the track heaved under the spotlight." More...
