Lordi Reveals New Album Release Date
Finnish heavy metal monsters Lordi has announced that they will be releasing their fifth studio album through The End Records on September 14th. This will be a worldwide release date. The new album is entitled, "Babez For Breakfast" and was recorded earlier this year with producer Michael Wagener, who has previously worked with Ozzy Osbourne and Alice Cooper. The first single from the album, "This Is Heavy Metal" will be released on August 6th.
Frontman Mr. Lordi stated: "We are very proud of this album. We went back to the basics and beyond. The new material is more rocking and melodic, but we have not forgotten the horror elements, either. As our producer says - each song includes a lot of energy, emotion and entertainment. We are eager to go back on the road and meet our fans with new songs, outfits and tricks!"
Gwar Frontman Talks Shit About Anthrax and Lordi
Gwar frontman Oderus Urungus talks smack on ANTHRAX and LORDI in his latest edition of his "Ask Oderus" advice column on MetalSucks, in addition to tackling topics such as crabcore, Hitler, and having sex with whales. An excerpt follows:
Q: Is it fair the singer from Anthrax got fired for shitting on the bass player’s back? Don’t you regularly give Cleveland steamers to Jizmak?
Was that really what happened? Was he really that bad a bass player? Wait… are you saying they fired the guy that shit on the bass player? Why would they do that? That band is never going to make it! Who did you say they were again? And as far as Jizmak goes, he IS a Cleveland steamer.
Q: My shirt is still stained with Hitler’s seaman from one of your shows. What is the best way to remove the funk of tyrannical man chowder?
Why would you want to get rid of it? That stuff rules! And anyway, I don’t think you CAN get rid of it. In fact, I think it probably spread to the rest of your clothing. How could you be stained by Hitler’s “seaman” anyway? What, did the last surviving crew member of the Bismark masturbate on you?
Q: Who will win in a wrestling match? Lordi or Pussycat Dolls?
I would have to say the Pussycat Dolls, thought I am not sure… Perhaps some kind of wrestling audition can be arranged… one where the Pussy-Cat Dolls are forced to wrestle the Cuttlefish of Cthulu (and also lick each other’s pussies). I could get them all pregnant, raise all the children and then throw them down a well full of eels. How their piercing screams enliven my love-nugget. Oh yeah, Lordi sucks.

Lordi Announces New Album Release Date
Finnish monster rockers Lordi has announced that they will be releasing their new album, "Deadache" in North America on October 28th with an international release in the same week.
“There are more horror themes on all levels than before,” says the bandleader Mr. Lordi (Tomi Putaansuu). “The lyrics, in particular, are more like horror stories than before.”
Keyboardist Awa states: “The music is guitar-based rock, just the way a rock band should be. The album features sounds from the 80’s: hammond-style organs and a bit of ROB ZOMBIE-style as well. All the experiences we’ve had and people we’ve met touring the world during the last few years have had their influences on the album.”
New Lordi Single Announced
Finland's Sony BMG will release the new single from Lordi, "Bite It like a Bulldog", on August 13. The song comes off the Finnish hard rock monsters' new album, which is scheduled for release in North America on October 28 via The End Records. The as-yet-untitled CD "will showcase the band's trademark melodic hard rock sound, something the band has amplified from the debut, 'Get Heavy', onto the mega-successful 'The Arockalypse'," according to a press release.
Lordi Begins Recording New Album
Controversial Finnish monster rockers Lordi have begun recording their new album.
Commented the group: "We don't wanna record 'The Arockalypse Part 2', but we won't forget our roots either."
The band had to choose from over 60 songs to record. "It's the same positive problem as always," laughs guitarist Amen. "Oh yeah, 60 demos is a lot to listen to, but at the same time it's a lot of fun. All the band members took part in the writing process and that was very positive too."
This album marks the first time bassist Ox and keyboardist Lady Awa will be in the studio at the start of a recording.
"I'm so excited! I just can't wait to hear the final results. The new songs kick ass so hard! I honestly think that this is gonna be the best LORDI album," says a thrilled Ox.
Keyboardist Awa states: "I joined the band at the time when LORDI was recording 'The Arockalypse' album, so I had to go straight to the studio and I didn't have much time to get to know the new songs," Awa says. "Now I've had a couple of years — such a joyride — and I have had time to 'get in' into the band. So now I'm even more excited about making the new album, choosing and practicing the songs. I have even tried to compose a little bit by myself."

09. Biomechanic Man
10. Last Kiss Goodbye
11. Dynamite Tonite

The End Records states: "The debut album showcases the band's early sound and style, potently packed with anthemic choruses and memorable riffs."
About the songwriting process, Mr. Lordi says: "Create the band that you would like to see on stage. Write the songs you'd love to sing along to. That's pretty much all that we love to do."
LORDI released their latest album, "The Arockalypse", in March 2007 and toured all summer as one of the main-stage acts on Ozzfest alongside OZZY OSBOURNE and LAMB OF GOD.
Lordi Post Movie Press Conference Online
A 13-minute video clip containing footage from the LORDI press conference for the band's new horror film, "Dark Floors", the official world premiere of the movie and the LORDI concert that followed can be viewed below.
"Dark Floors" premiered at Oulu Energia Areena in Finland on February 6. The home of Kärpät, a Finnish national hockey league team, hosted an audience of 5,000 people who also saw LORDI's show. With its image as the film-friendly town up north, Oulu is the perfect choice for the premiere: "Dark Floors" was shot there last summer.
The Finnish national premiere for the film took place this past Friday (February 8).
Solar Films produced "Dark Floors" in cooperation with the Northern Film and Media Foundation POEM and the North Finland Film Commission (NFFC).
The film — set in an American hospital with a British cast, including Ronald Pickup — has a conventional, spine-curling horror plot. It follows the story of a small group of people including an autistic girl - played by 12-year-old Briton Skye Bennett — inexplicably trapped in a suddenly deserted hospital. More...
