Underoath Comment On New Album and Producer
UNDEROATH have announced they’ll release their new album June 20 on Tooth and Nail/Solid State Records.
Co-produced by Matt Goldman and KILLSWITCH ENGAGE guitarist Adam Dutkiewicz, the Florida-based sextet are in Los Angeles mixing the as-yet-untitled album with Chris Lord Alge (GREEN DAY, ROB ZOMBIE). “This is the record we've been striving to write for the past five years, and I never thought I'd see the day when it actually happened,“ explains McTague. “I can't wait for everyone to hear what we've been creating for the past few months, but in the end, if everyone hated it, we'd still think it's probably the best record we may ever be a part of.”
This marks UNDEROATH’s third full-length CD and the follow-up to their massive breakout album "They’re Only Chasing Safety", which has now sold over 300,000 copies. In the Alternative Press cover story on UNDEROATH, the magazine described "They’re Only Chasing Safety" as “an unqualified success, one of the most coherent albums in post-genre rock, a movement that’s been spreading like wildfire since the walls between hardcore, pop, metal and emo were demolished” (September 2005).
In touring news, UNDEROATH is confirmed for the UK’s Give It A Name Festival April 29-30 in London and Manchester. On May 3, the band will kick off a headlining U.S. trek, with POISON THE WELL, AS CITIES BURN, SPITFIRE and SINCE BY MAN supporting. On Sunday, May 7, UNDEROATH will perform at the Bamboozle Festival in East Rutherford, NJ.
This Summer, UNDEROATH will hit the road as one of the headlining main-stage acts on the Vans Warped Tour ‘06.

MTV2 Headbangers Ball: The Revenge Details
MTV2 and Roadrunner Records have announced the release of the third installment in the successful series – MTV2 HEADBANGERS BALL: THE REVENGE. The low priced, double-disc is due in stores on April 11, 2006.
On the heels of the Gold certification of the first installment, MTV2 HEADBANGERS BALL, VOLUME 1 and the success with MTV2 HEADBANGERS BALL, VOLUME 2, MTV2 and Roadrunner Records once again set out to gather the very best in Hard Rock and Heavy Metal. The result is more than 2 1/2 hours of music on 2 CDs: disc one represents the strongest tracks from today's biggest rock bands, and disc two brings together the strongest up-and-comers from the underground rock scene.
In addition to the genre-defining anthems that represent the best of the show, there are enough rare and unreleased tracks to satisfy tastemaker metal fans as well. Packed with a total of 38 hard-charging tracks, this collection has 7 exclusive offerings. They include the Terry Date mix of Slipknot's "Before I Forget", and the live recording of Killswitch Engage's "A Bid Farewell", which both see their first CD release on this compilation. Other exclusives are brand new tracks from Hatebreed and Walls Of Jericho, both of which were written especially for this release (Hatebreed's lead vocalist, Jamey Jasta, is the host of the Headbangers Ball program on MTV2). A video for the Hatebreed track, entitled "To The Threshold", will air on video channels in March. A side project of Jasta's, Kingdom of Sorrow (which also includes members of Down, Crowbar and Seemless), also throws a brand new track into the ring. The compilation beat Dragonforce and 36 Crazyfists' record releases to the punch with fresh new tracks from these up-and-comers.

Underoath Talk About Slipknot and Satanism
During a Halloween show in New Jersey, Underoath took the stage dressed like Slipknot and opened the show with 'Duality'. "Our manager called their management, and they sent us some masks and said all they wanted was some pictures," guitarist and songwriter Timothy McTague recalled in an interview with MTV News. "We all had jumpsuits with their numbers spray-painted on them. It was funny as crap. Both of our singers love Slipknot. There's a lot of respect there, for sure." Asked why, considering Slipknot's work includes tales of serial killers, followers of black magic and other evildoer, McTague said, "I feel like there are two ways to be satanic. You have bands like Atreyu, who are dark and twisted and have pentagrams and say they believe in vampires and all this evil stuff. But at the end of the day, those guys are just doing theater. We've toured with them several times, and there's no strife there. I feel bands like them and Slipknot don't truly believe in what they're talking about. People who are truly satanic are different, and when they step into a church everything goes weird. But if I started talking to you five minutes ago and I thought you were just a dude, and now you tell me you're a satanic dude, I'm not going to think of you any differently. I love everyone for what they do, and if someone wants to have an adult conversation about doctrinal beliefs or spiritual warfare, that's fine. We'll talk to anybody."
