Two Early Overkill Albums To Be Reissued On One CD
Megaforce Records will re-release OVERKILL's two classic early albums, "Fuck You and Then Some" and "Feel the Fire", on one CD February 22, 2005. These albums not only showcase the early years of the band, but also represent some of the finest early thrash metal.
New York thrash quartet OVERKILL formed in the early 1980s and these releases feature the classic line-up formed by vocalist Bobby "Blitz" Ellsworth and guitarist Bobby Gustafson. After garnering a reputation for pounding speed and technique, OVERKILL became contemporaries of heavy hitters like METALLICA, TESTAMENT, and ANTHRAX.
1985's "Feel the Fire" is the full-length debut that made quite a splash within the heavy metal community. It possessed all the blistering riffs and complete abandonment fans would learn to expect from OVERKILL. With band classics like the title track and "Rotten to the Core", this release solidified a loyal fan base as the band expanded their sound. This classic original band lineup remains the fan's favorite and this album paved the way for OVERKILL, and ultimately helped define a generation of spastic and relentless metal. 1996's "Fuck You and Then Some" remains an unapologetic and in-your-face album that is a classic with thrash fans.
