Aenimus Shares "Wasteland" Lyric Video
Bay Area natives Aenimus will release their "Sacrificial" EP on May 6th via Nuclear Blast. Today, the band releases their third single, 'Wasteland' featuring David Benites. Watch the lyric video below.
Aenimus comments, "'Wasteland' is the heaviest and darkest song AENIMUS has written. The lyrics are very melancholy and touch heavily on the dark place where depression and addiction can lead people. The music is fast-paced and relentless from beginning to end and I think listeners will enjoy this darker side of Aenimius."
"Sacrificial" was recorded at Grimzee Studios with Brian Gosling handling the producing and mixing. The cover artwork was created by Mark Erskine of Erskine Designs. More...
Aenimus Releases Opeth Cover
Bay Area natives Aenimus has offered fans a visualizer for their cover of Opeth's, "Demon Of The Fall." Listen to "Demon Of The Fall" below.
Aenimus comments,
"When Nuclear Blast approached us with the idea of covering a classic metal song, we honestly had a hard time deciding what song or even artist we would cover. We went back and forth for months before one of our label reps brought up the idea of paying tribute to Opeth. This idea felt immediately right with all of us. Opeth is one of Greg's favorite bands and they are one of the pioneers of progressive death metal, so it was an easy yes. We decided to go with one of their older songs, 'Demon of the Fall' because not only is it a great song that is heavy and really fit the vibes we were going for with our follow up EP Sacrificial, but we felt with today's modern production we could really transform this song into something amazing. When reimagining this track, we wanted to keep that classic Opeth feel to it but give it a more modern Aenimus sound, so we focused in on adding a full orchestration behind the song and Brian even added a nice arpeggio section over one of the instrumental breaks. We are super happy how it all turned out and hope that the legends in Opeth get a chance to hear it, and maybe even dig it too." More...
Aenimus Releases New Visualizer Video
Today, Aenimus are proud to release a music video for their new single "The Climb," which kicks off a new chapter for the band. Check out the visualizer for "The Climb" below.
Aenimus comments:
"It is with great excitement that we bring you our newest single 'The Climb'. It is the start of Aenimus’ next chapter as a band with bassist Seth Stone stepping into a new role as lead vocalist. It is also our first song featuring the extreme talents of guitarist Greg Paulson. We’d also like to take this moment to introduce you all to Brian Gosling of Grimzee and As The Structure Fails, who played a large role in the writing and production for 'The Climb' and moving forward will be playing guitar with Aenimus.
"As you are likely aware at this point Alex Green, Cody Pulliam, and Jordan Rush are no longer members of Aenimus. Without getting into too many details, the last two years have been extremely difficult for all of us. When the pandemic put a swift stop to live music, life kept going and it led to a lot of tough decisions to be made for everyone as individuals and for Aenimus as a whole. These decisions, though not easy, led us to part ways with the three members. We will cherish the time spent writing and performing Dreamcatcher with them all over the world and we are so proud to have shared these moments with such fine musicians. Even though Alex and Cody are no longer a part of Aenimus, Dreamcatcher is not the last you will hear of them. Alex and Cody helped tremendously with the lyrics, vocal patterns, and drums for 'The Climb' and the music for our upcoming releases. We are thankful to have their blessing to release these songs we wrote with them.
"We have a lot in store for you all this year including more new music and an awesome tour announcement. Thank you all for sticking with us and supporting us for the last 10 years as a band. We are so excited for this new beginning for Aenimus and are ready to start the climb.” More...

Aenimus Seeks Fan Help Finding Stolen Equipment
Aenimus has issued the following statement online seeking fan help in tracking down stolen equipment:
"Today I went to our trailer to find that we had been robbed. We stored our trailer in the back of a gated (locked) parking lot in the industrial area of Santa Rosa while off tour. I went to the trailer to grab our merch, to get our online store up and running again, to find someone cut off the latches that lock our trailer door.
"Sean's Mesa 4x12 cab, w/ enclosed case and my Ampeg 8x10 cab along with all our hoodies, shorts, shot glasses and merch bins were stolen.
"As much as this sucks it could be a lot worse and we are grateful for that. Please share this around so that maybe we can recover our stolen gear. If you see any of our gear please notify the band directly via email and the Santa Rosa Police Department immediately. Aenimus Recruits New Members
Aenimus has posted the following message online about recruiting a new guitarist and drummer:
"First things first... We have parted ways with Brian 'Deebs' James. He has chosen to pursue his education, and with the band and touring being a first priority for everyone else, it was absolutely necessary for us to continue moving forward.
"Having said that... It is our absolute pleasure to introduce you to the newest members of Ænimus: Guitarist Miles Baker and Drummer Justin Tvetan!
"We got in touch with Miles a few months ago and he blew us away with his advanced level of musicianship. After a few video auditions we asked him to learn our live set and join us on the Transcend Reality tour, where he proved he was more than capable as a touring guitarist and had the right attitude as well. We knew that he would be a great permanent addition to the band.
"A lot of you may recognize Justin from his other band, Sacramento Math Metal instrumentalists, Journal. We started jamming with Justin earlier this year when he agreed to fill in for us on the Groove It Or Lose It tour. Needless to say, Justin killed it on drums every night of the tour and left a huge impression on all of us. It's hard to find people both capable and willing to learn material for a tour, but the hardest thing to do is find someone you can live in a van with for days or weeks on end. Justin's down to earth attitude and overall personality, coupled with his amazing skills behind the kit, made it clear that he was a perfect fit for the band.
"So there you have it!! Ænimus is now complete with a very strong line up of solid musicians, and we couldn't be more stoked for the future of this band. We promise to bring you the absolute best live performance of Transcend Reality every night on the road, and rest assured we are already writing new material that your body is not ready for! Oh, and expect some sweet brand new play through videos and more announcements soon enough!!" More...
