The Zenith Passage Releases New Lyric Video

"Solipsist" is the debut full-length from Los Angeles death metal collective The Zenith Passage, set for release on April 15th via Unique Leader Records.

The forty-minute "Solipsist" examines the idea of solipsism, a philosophical theory that the self is all that can be known to exist, and anything else outside of one's own mind is uncertain.

The Zenith Passage, which features within its ranks current and former members of The Faceless, Fallujah and All Shall Perish, builds upon this foundation, expanding into themes of nonexistence and a computer-generated fictional reality experienced by all of humanity.

In advance of its release, today the album's second track "Holographic Principle II: Convergence" comes online in the form of a lyric video. Check it out below, courtesy of MetalInjection.net Elaborates lead guitarist / backing vocalist Justin McKinney of the tune:

"Recent studies suggest that our universe may only appear to be three dimensional and is, in fact, a two dimensional projection of a parallel universe - like a hologram in the unseen 'real' universe. 'Holographic Principle II: Convergence' mirrors the chaotic state of a destabilized mind awakening to realities much stranger than we could have imagined. The composition has a multifaceted, sporadic essence. While remaining true to our death metal roots, we pushed this piece's edges into other territory, entwining the aggressive technical foundation with spatters of jazz fusion and classical symphony. We hope you'll lose yourself as you take your first look into 'Solipsist.'" More...

The Zenith Passage Streaming Pre-Production Track

Los Angeles technical death metal band The Zenith Passage today unleashes a new pre-production track entitled "Simulated Reality." Give it a listen below.

The maniacal new tune will appear on the follow-up to the "Cosmic Dissonance" EP. The following press release was also issued about the band:

"It was in early 2012 that a small recording collaboration between two friends -- Justin McKinney and Greg Hampton -- began to coalesce into something that would prove to be well more than the sum of its parts.

"The Zenith Passage may have come about from humble beginnings in a stuffy Los Angeles apartment, but the produce thereof is anything but humble. Even the earliest demo tracks delivered a relentless torrent of technical guitar work accompanied by a distinctly frenetic and brutal vocal delivery that has since become an unmistakable hallmark in a scene that is all too often the victim of stagnation.

"Far from being strictly a shredfest, TZP also incorporates a thematic backbone that draws inspiration from the chaotic and awesome destructive powers of our universe. Progressive interludes invoke a palpable sense of abstract dread and reverence for things beyond mortal comprehension. The atmosphere created clearly nods to inspiration drawn from the likes of Deeds of Flesh, Soreption, Fallujah, Severed Savior, and Aeon. More...
