The Black Dahlia Murder is currently on tour with co-headliners Suicide Silence, along with supporting acts Chelsea Grin and Alterbeast. Vocalist Trevor Strnad offered the following comment on the tour:
"We are very excited to finally be able to let the big secret out… our final US tour on the 'Everblack' album will be with none other than Californian titans Suicide Silence. The guys have been homies of ours since we toured together with Cannibal Corpse in South America. We are extremely glad they've chosen to persevere all of the hardship and tragedy and we are proud to call them tour mates and friends. The magic 8 Ball says we're going to party our asses off together and have an awesome, successful tour. Cheers to Suicide Silence and we'll see you all in October!" More...
After the success of our DevilDriver giveaway in June, we’re inviting South Florida residents (or any able/willing to attend) to see The Black Dahlia Murder, Suicide Silence, Chelsea Grin, and Alterbeast on Monday, October 13th. If interested, email email@example.com with subject heading “Black Dahlia Murder,” and submit your full name matching your ID.
Even if you can’t make it, lend us a hand and share our giveaway far and wide on social media; the more popular it gets, the more we can spread this experiment nationwide and to a venue near you.
Next, co-host Mike Smith (OverkillExposure) weighs in with a rather prickly and pessimistic insight on the longterm effects of Internet culture on the music/metal scene, specifically the downsides (and there are always downsides).
The downloading issue has been talked to death, but Mike sees some mass psychological implications at work here as well, and they do not bode well for the future. His hypothesis: due to the increased platform the Web offers to egoistic, insecure, and often talent-starved amateurs, there will never again emerge a tremendously popular, universally loved rock ’n’ roll band, much less a metal band. Listen in to hear his full thoughts on the matter.
Finally, Kevin offers a detailed review of the new self-titled album from Darkest Hour, which boasts a new rhythm section and a potentially divisive new direction in style - although Kevin puts up a passionate and justified defense on the album’s behalf. Do you agree?
Alterbeast has issued the following announcement about parting ways with the band's vocalist:
"Unfortunately our singer Cameron will be stepping down from vocal duties at the end of August, we are sad to see him go, but we will be forever grateful for his contributions to this band and cant wait to see what cool and amazing stuff he does next! We hope you will roll out to Cameron's last show w/ Origin, King Parrot, Beyond Creation and more Friday, Aug. 29th in South Lake Tahoe and send him off in DM fashion!
"Our good friend Monte Barnard (The Antioch Synopsis, Soma Ras) will be stepping up to fill Cam's shoes, and let us tell ya, this guy is a fucking unstoppable killing machine! He is the real deal. One of the best frontmen we have ever seen, with a vocal range that is unmatched by most. We really lucked out in gaining this most welcomed member to the Alterbeast family. Catch him with us this October when we tour North America w/The Black Dahlia Murder, Suicide Silence, and Chelsea Grin! Presented by Blackcraft! Check the dates below!" More...

Sacremento death metal act Alterbeast today spews forth "Vile Remnants," which comes courtesy of the band's "Immortal" full-length, set for imminent detonation on March 18th via Unique Leader.
Listen to the song in the player below, courtesy of Decibel Magazine. The following press release was also issued about the album:
"Methodically assembled in several locals throughout 2013, with guitars and bass recorded at Augmented Audio in Los Angeles by former The Black Dahlia Murder bassist Ryan 'Bart' Williams, vocals arranged at Mayhemeness Studios in Sacramento by Bob Swanson (Rings Of Saturn) and drums tracked at Castle Ultimate Studios with Zack Ohren (Light This City, All Shall Perish, First Blood, Cattle Decapitation, Warbringer et al), who also mixed and mastered the offering, Immortal is a dynamic, instrumentally pummeling and plainly scathing manifestation of auditory brutality." The musical assassins at Gear Gods today unleash the latest track of technical tenacity and demonical debauchery from Sacramento death metal ogres Alterbeast.

Sacramento technical death metal militia Alterbeast is pleased to unleash a full-length debut via Unique Leader on March 18th.
Titled "Immortal," the eight track monster offering was meticulously assembled in several locals throughout 2013. Guitars and bass were recorded at Augmented Audio in Los Angeles with former The Black Dahlia Murder bassist Ryan "Bart" Williams, vocals arranged at Mayhemeness Studios in Sacramento by Bob Swanson (Rings Of Saturn, Plague Window et al) and drums tracked at Castle Ultimate Studios with Zack Ohren (Light This City, All Shall Perish, First Blood, Cattle Decapitation, Warbringer et al), who also mixed and mastered the release.
Elaborates vocalist Cam Rogers of the outcome: "Immortal is what was spawned from hard work, dedication, and downright brutal musicianship. It has intricate solos, absolutely crushing interludes and brutal circle-pit anthems. Alterbeast sets the scene with grievous piano preceding the onset of 'Flesh Bound Text' which comes in with blistering drums and guitars effortlessly making their way around the fret board. Every piece truly has its own personality on this record, whether it's the apocalyptic soundscapes of 'Ancient's Retribution,' the devastating aggression of 'Vile Remnants' or the unmerciful grooves in 'Throne of Maggots.' This album has something for every listener and comes together seamlessly to form as a breathtaking whole. Immortal is exactly what we intended it to be: a gripping and intense death metal album."
1. Flesh Bound Text
2. Of Decimus Divine
3. Vile Remnants
4. Ancient's Retribution
5. Mutilated Marvel
6. Into Oblivion
8. Throne of Maggots More...
Alterbeast (formerly Gary Busey Amber Alert) has issued the following announcement about the band's upcoming album:
"We are very pleased to announce that we have received the masters of our record 'Immortal' (out early 2014 via Unique Leader Records), and it sounds phenomenal!
"We truly believe there is something for everyone one on this 8 track juggernaut, and will be releasing cover art, done by Raymond Swanland, track listing, album release date, and a new song for your listening pleasure very soon!
"Info on pre order packages, merch, and touring will be covered in the near future as well! In the mean time watch our drummer Gabe shred at Castle Ultimate Studios!" More...
Sacramento technical death metal legion Alterbeast is pleased to announce a union with Unique Leader Records. The label comments:
"Formed in 2011 under the working title Gary Busey Amber Alert (GBAA), Alterbeast combines influences from the likes of The Black Dahlia Murder, Necrophagist and Spawn of Possession with numerous classic death metal acts like Dissection and Morbid Angel into an infuriated expulsion of animosity.
"After a year of dedicated song-crafting, Alterbeast unleashed their first demo in 2012 and played countless shows opening for Deicide, Dying Fetus, Testament, Revocation, Exhumed, Severed Savior and many others. Their crushing live assaults combined with a DIY ethos quickly earned them a revered place within the local death metal community.
"Earlier this year, Alterbeast entered Augmented Audio at Sound Temple Studios to record their debut. Titled Immortal, the record was engineered by former The Black Dahlia Murder bassist Ryan 'Bart' Williams. The band later enlisted Gabe Seeber (The Kennedy Veil) to the drum stool, returned to the studio - this time at Oakland's Castle Ultimate with engineer Zack Ohren (Light This City, All Shall Perish, First Blood, Cattle Decapitation, Warbringer et al) -- to record drums, mix and master the album.
"Slated for release in early 2014 via Unique Leader, Immortal will feature eight tracks of brutal, uncompromising death metal mastery. Further Alterbeast developments to be announced in the coming weeks. Stay tuned." More...
Gary Busey Amber Alert has checked in with the following announcement about parting ways with drummer Garrett Garvey:
"Hey everybody. Unfortunately Garrett has decided to leave the band. We already have Gabe (The Kennedy Veil) filling in for us and he is absolutely killing it.
"We're excited for what the future holds and are trying to keep as many shows as possible as Gabe is having to split his time between two bands. Check out his videos and come out to a show. See you all soon."
Gary Busey Amber Alert, hailing from Sacramento, has released a new demo. G.B.A.A. is streaming that demo over on MySpace, plus they have uploaded a video for the track "Vile Remnants." G.B.A.A. will play it's first live gig on January 6th at On The Y in Sacramento, along with the bands Sepsis, Symbolik, Aborticide and From Cities to Salt.
