Tomorrow's Summer Slaughter Date Changing Venue

The organizers of the Summer Slaughter tour have issued the following update about changing venues for tomorrow's show:

"Summer Slaughter tour in El Paso Tomorrow (Tuesday, July 20th) forced to move to Las Cruces, NM @ Beverly Hills Club due to shady owner of Club 101! Many of you may have noticed that The 4th Annual Summer Slaughter Festival in El Paso was advertised and on sale at Club 101 for quite some time. The owner was recently offered a Buckcherry show on the same day and outright canceled Summer Slaughter to replace it with Buckcherry because 'his bar sales would be much higher.'

"That is the crappiest thing you can do in this business and it really is despicable that he would be willing to screw over 10 touring bands and hundreds of fans out of greed for alcohol sales. Please spread the word to everyone you can about the new venue info for Summer Slaughter in El Paso/Las Cruces."

The tour includes Cephalic Carnage, The Faceless, Decrepit Birth, All Shall Perish, The Red Chord, Veil of Maya, and more.

Francesco Artusato Finishes Solo Album

All Shall Perish’s new guitarist Francesco Artusato has completed work on his new, all instrumental solo endeavor entitled "Chaos and The Primordial." Artusato has launched a new MySpace page to promote this solo release, which features several samples from the new album.

Artusato checks in with the following comments: "I just got back from my first tour with All Shall Perish playing four great shows as direct support for the legendary Danzig. It was such an amazing and mind blowing experience! We will be back on the road starting this weekend for the Summer Slaughter North American tour and will then head out to Europe after that. It’s going to be great.

"This is also an exciting moment for me because my first solo record Chaos and the Primordial is finally finished. It’s 10 tracks of all instrumental music that explore the rock/metal language in singular ways. I’m very proud of the final product. It sounds the way I envisioned it thanks to Ben Cohen, who mixed and mastered it at Sky Blue Studios. It took a lot of patience and attention due to the crazy amount of recorded guitar tracks (doubles, harmonies and different layers and textures). Some of the songs have more 25 guitar tracks each! This disc is the result of the experiences, studies, thoughts and musical moments that shaped my sound and vision throughout these years.

"The first sample is taken from the1st track titled ‘Chaos and the Primordial.’ Overall, it’s a very technical and intense song that has a progressive vibe with some very open and lyrical parts mixed with very powerful moments of intensity and complexity. More...

All Shall Perish Reveals New Band Members

Oakland, California deathcore outfit All Shall Perish has announced that they have recruited a new drummer, as well as a new touring guitarist, after their previous lead player Jason Richardson left the band. A message from the band reads as follows:

"So we're long due for an update on the currently happenings of All Shall Perish. Firstly, we're pleased to announce that Adam Pierce (Sea Of Treachery) has come onboard as our new drummer. Yes, this means that one of our original members, Matt Kuykendall, is no longer in the band. It's always tough to part ways with a long-time member and friend, but it was absolutely necessary in order to maintain forward progress. Also, as many of you may already know, our most recent lead guitarist, Jason Richardson, has left ASP and joined Born Of Osiris. That being said, we'd like you all to welcome Francesco Artusato, originally hailing from Treviso, Italy, as our new touring guitarist for the foreseeable future. This is the line-up you'll see throughout this year and hopefully well beyond. We feel great about these new additions and are confident that the ASP fans will make them feel welcome! There will be new photos and more updates coming soon. Come see us on Summer Slaughter and hang out!"

Tales From The Pit: Wall of Death FAIL

We've been talking to bands and fans everywhere to get their favorite mosh pit stories. This week, Eddie from All Shall Perish shares quite a different wall of death experience from their previous one.

“Wuddup, Eddie from All Shall Perish here and I can recall one time we were in Dallas, TX and I called out a wall of death. Everyone immediately spread like wildfire and I was thinking that it was going to be incredible. Sadly though when shit went off I only saw maybe ten kids run at eachother. The saving grace to these kids being too scared to run at each other was watching this one guy clothesline another guy and seeing the kid who got hit do a complete backflip. He layed on the floor for the rest of the breakdown and I was too taken back to keep singing I just pointed and laughed at how incredible watching some WWF type shit go down was. I'm happy to say the guy was more than stoked and actually came and gave me a hug later! Thank you Dallas!”

All Shall Perish was recently confirmed for a European tour with Caliban as well as an appearance at Graspop 2010.

Check back every Tuesday for more tales from the pit.
