The official lineup and dates for the 4th annual Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival has finally been announced. Confirming much of what was leaked last week, DISTURBED, GODSMACK and MEGADETH will headline the main stage, joined by MACHINE HEAD, IN FLAMES, TRIVIUM, and many more bands. The tour will make a 26 date trek across the country beginning on July 9th at the San Manuel Amphitheater in San Bernardino, California. Go to www.rockstarmayhemfest.com and www.livenation.com for up-to-date ticketing information.
This summer’s mainstage artists, DISTURBED, GODSMACK, and MEGADETH, will be joined by a mix of the best hard rock and metal artists of today. IN FLAMES, MACHINE HEAD and TRIVIUM have grown through the ranks to now perform on the mainstage in rotating slots throughout the tour.
The JAGERMEISTER stage will feature UNEARTH, KINGDOM OF SORROW, RED FANG, and the winners of JAGERMEISTER Battle of the Bands. The Extreme Stage will spotlight SUICIDE SILENCE, ALL SHALL PERISH and STRAIGHT LINE STITCH.
The 2011 ROCKSTAR ENERGY DRINK MAYHEM FESTIVAL will also feature ROCKSTAR METAL MULISHA JUMP TEAM, the World’s Greatest Freestyle Motocross team.
“Strap yourself in and hold on tight, cuz this ride goes reeeeeal fassst this summer,” exclaims GODSMACK vocalist Sully Erna. “Godsmack/Disturbed, Mayhem Festival!! Can't Fu@?kin' wait!!!”
Mainstage guitarist Dan Donnegan of DISTURBED emotes, “DISTURBED is looking forward to being part of the biggest summer tour in the U.S. this year. It's been years since we shared the stage with GODSMACK and we've been wanting to team up with them and join forces for a longtime. MEGADETH has been a big inspiration to us and we are looking forward to the other bands rounding out what seems to be a solid bill.”
Also, mainstage performer MEGADETH’s lead guitarist and frontman Dave Mustaine adds, “This is going to be a helluva hot summer, and you can get ready for true Mayhem this year.”
“MACHINE HEAD are thrilled to once again be a part of what has become the undisputed king of metal and rock festivals in the U.S., MAYHEM,” states MACHINE HEAD frontman and guitarist Robb Flynn. “Our run headlining the JAGERMEISTER stage in 2008 was one of the wildest and most inspiring tours we have ever been a part of. We became friends with so many great bands and Mulisha dudes. We all partied, and rode what would become an incredible wave of momentum for MACHINE HEAD. The vibe on the tour was filled with an impressive amount of goodwill due to the attention to detail and hard work of John Reese and Kevin Lyman. MACHINE HEAD will do everything in our power to make this f*ing huge!! Bring on the summer!”
“Metal is ALIVE and WELL in 2011,” states tour producer John Reese. “Each year the tour gets bigger and better and 2011 is no exception. This group of artists this year are going to apply a big, bad, metal shellacking for the fans across the USA and Canada.”
“ROCKSTAR ENERGY DRINK MAYHEM FESTIVAL 2011 is a true mix of molten veterans and smoldering up-and-comers, who are bringing their A games and giving the fans nothing less of an amazing day,” adds tour producer Kevin Lyman.
Live Nation is co-producer of the tour and will promote the festival nationally. Perry Lavoisne, SVP North American Touring for Live Nation, states, “The Mayhem team has delivered the best live metal line-up possible for four years in row, while creating a highly visible brand and value for fans of metal and hard rock. We anticipate another stellar run with DISTURBED, GODSMACK, MEGADETH and all the other bands uniting metal fans at every tour stop.”

kick disturbed and godsmack off...throw on in flames/machine f'n head/trivium/megadeth for mainstage and i'm sold....not too excited about seeing disturbed again...not a big godsmack fan either...
kinda bummed about all those rumors not coming close to true...no SOAD, no tool, no devildriver, no cav consp, etc etc etc....looks like this tour is goin to turn into a more "hard rock" fest with headliners such as godsmack and distured...fack it, i'll still be down in camden

20 dollar lawn ticket sounds great right now! Warm sun, cold beers, underdressed chicks , tailgating. I'm there. Compared to weather here in New England right now, this sounds like fun. Beating traffic after Megadeth definitely. U all will have to fill me in on Godsmacks and Disturbeds performance

"Machine Head has grown through the ranks."
Wait, what? Um, no. The ranks of the MH army would CRUSH anything else that could be mustered there. There's TONS more talent and skill in that band than in Disturbed AND Godsmack put together. Sure, one of the members might COLLAPSE while playing (mad respect, but sometimes you have to make light jokes about a situation), but MH is farrrr more ass-kicking than either of those bands.
Rob can sing his f***ing lungs out, his head off and STILL keep going. The Disturbed dude.... misses words because he has to pause and take a breath. WEAK.
I remember seeing Disturbed at Mayhem before, and really.... I wasn't impressed. At all. My sister was there, bless her metal heart, she shared the exact same sentiment with/as me.
Looking at this list.... I see 3 main reasons to hit this one up. 1) A hot, sunny day in Virginia surrounded by nothing but metal, 2) Machine Head, 3) free energy drinks. For all that, I'd pay for the cheapest tickets. Would still rather have MH on a side stage, where fans can actually get closer to them instead of having to deal with sh**ty lawn seats.

this is basically an in flames concert to be, it just so happens that unearth, machine head, all shall perish, and megaDave are there. so, with this perspective in mind, it's a pretty good show. i won't be leaving early, but i'll sure be getting drunk in the lawn during the "clean up crew" (disturd and cumsmack).

yepp definatly going. unearth ad all shall perish are gonna be sweet. om not a fan but why doesnt machine head headline the parking lot? its not gonna be that cool sitting in the lawn. and megadeth should NOT be opening for godsmack or disturbed. metal heads prepare, theres gonna be alotta fa**ots at this years fest. let them see nothing but wreckage in the pits

godsmacks the sh** live seen disturbed 5 times theyre ok wanted to see megadeath its only 20 dollars quit b****ing fags thats why no one wants to go on good tours because theres always some kids b****ing about a 20 dollar show all yall that be b****ing will be the ones having a blast
