Morton Posts Live Performance Video

Morton has posted a new live performance video online, which can be viewed below, and the band also comments:

"Finally, it is time to officially lift the curtain and give you a sneak peak on what's waiting for you on the new Morton album. And while we're going creative in the studio, you have the opportunity to check out the live version of one of our new songs - Divine Descent!

"Although, we can't call this song much of a spoiler. The upcoming album turns to be pretty diverse, and there is no way a single song could reveal the whole album's essence. Perhaps, Divine Descent is the most 'traditional' and old-school song among others - in a good way!

"Filming and recording took place at Rock'U festival, on the night between the 6th and the 7th of July. The idea to shoot a live video came to us just a couple of days before the show, thanks to the guys from PicOi for their initiative." More...

Rommelrock Festival Cancelled

The upcoming Rommelrock festival, which was to take place Friday and Saturday in Maasmechelen, Belgium, was cancelled. According to the promoters, the mayor of the town enforced a decision made back in May, in which he refused to issue a permit on the grounds that that the festival would cause unsafe conditions.

The announcement reads: "To our greatest regret, Rommelrock is forced to cancel the whole event. Seven years of intense labour, the spotless reputation, legal terms and liberties, in vain... Two court sessions made little difference... [The] mayor steps in to enforce the prohibition to organize Rommelrock, refuses to issue a license to permit Rommelrock 2013... such an improbable tale, as the decision of the Maasmechelen mayor made on May 13, 2013, is maintained, on so-called grounds of safety and public order... A boiling cauldron that spawned the anti-rommelrock story!

"Despite all the efforts taken and the fact we have the law and justice at our side according to the law and the constitution itself, the struggle ended in the worst possible way, forcing us to pull the plug out of this year's Rommelrock.

"We wish to express our deepest respect to all that supported us, and we apologize in the same time to all that suffered because of all this, despite all perseverance and tenacity.
We never wanted to see Rommelrock 2013, a special edition with exclusive shows and such, to end in this way."

Among the acts that were scheduled to perform: Therion, Civil War, Haggard, Morton, Tokyo Blade, Furyon, Dragonsfire, Sound Storm, Pursuing the End, Lord Volture, Iron Fate, Black Widow and Weeping Silence. More...

Morton Streaming New Single "Foreteller"

Ukrainian power metal band Morton recorded a song for the new year appropriately entitled "Foreteller," and ode to the prophecies surrounding the year 2012. In a statement from the band about the song:

"MORTON sincerely wishes you a Happy New Year! Yeah, there was a great deal of talks about 2012, fatal prophecies and stuff like that. But we believe that it's gonna be a great year, without any 'apocalypses,' 'third world wars,' etc, etc:)

"And yeah, we have a gift for you! We were composing our New Year audio greeting, and it was a lot of fun, but suddenly we realized that it turned into something bigger - into a full song! So, we started recording. We spent the New Year night in the studio, working on this new track and it is the best way a band can celebrate any holiday. So, here we are, eager to share it with you. We give you 'Foreteller!'

"If you're reading this text, then you've probably noticed, that you can also read the synced lyrics and even sing along:) Let this song encourage you for the new achievements! Everything is in our hands! Happy New Year!"
