Deserters Posts New Track "God Feels Nothing"

Another track from Deserters upcoming EP "Try To Feel" has now been posted online. You can listen to "God Feels Nothing" in the player below.

"It's about guilt and God's capacity to feel. I believe that if God could feel guilt, or anything at all, he would have bowed out, a long time ago," stated vocalist Matthew Roell. He further explains: "We are told that he is omnipotent, omnipresent, all-powerful and all knowing. Why would it be a sin to kill myself, if God planned it? Why would it be a sin to voice my disbelief, if God wrote the script? The only thing that makes me Godlike and the only thing that makes God like a man, is knowing when it is our time to leave."

"Try To Feel" will be available via digital retailers on October 29th through Mediaskare Records. More...

Deserters Entering The Studio

Deserters will be hitting the studio this weekend with producer Kyle Black (Alpha & Omega, Shai Hulud) to begin recording a new EP titled "Try To Feel."

When speaking on the follow-up to 2012's "The Slow Rhythms of a Dead-Beat," guitarist Will O'Bryan stated that "Try To Feel" represents where the band is at mentally, as a band and individuals.

"Realizing that there is nothing left for us in the cities that saw us change from resident to visitor, we wanted to make an EP that could expresses that mindset, sonically," he explained. Adding, "Prepare yourself for the ugliest Deserters record that you've ever heard. No holds barred, honest music by dishonest people."

The 6-song EP will be released in early 2014 through Mediaskare Records.

Deserters Streaming New Song

Noisecreep has premiered the new track "The Black Sheep" from the upcoming Deserters album "The Slow Rhythms of a Dead-Beat." The song can be heard now at this location. Speaking on the track, band frontman Matt Roell stated the following:

"'The Black Sheep' is track 10, from our upcoming album, The Slow Rhythms of a Dead-Beat. It is an anthem for anyone who feels like they don't belong. I can't pretend anymore, spinning my wheels and working for what? I'd rather be homeless and hate the world first-hand, than sit in my box of an apartment, experiencing life through a television screen. Complacency is a cancer and I'm sick of sitting still."

"The Slow Rhythms of a Dead-Beat" hits stores September 11th through Mediaskare Records, with exclusive pre-order packages available here. "'The Slow Rhythms Of A Dead-Beat' picks up where 2011's 'Fail Yourself' EP left off, introducing twelve new chapters examining the harsher side of life, intimate confessions that reveal 'the punishment that dreams induce, the contemplation of suicide, the sociopath's inability to feel, the victim's left in their wake, and God's inability to be.'

"Deserters, who exemplify their own saying, 'scream the things you could never say,' chose to release opening track 'Optimism's Victim' as a dedication to 'people in the past who have held on when there was nothing real to hold.'" More...
