Psyopus Announces New Vocalist, Brian Woodruff
NY grinders, Psyopus, have revealed Brian Woodruff as their newest vocalist.
"Psyopus is long overdue and happy to announce new vocalist Brian Woodruff into the band. If you've seen Psyopus at all since the beginning of our Grinding Into Cataclysm tour that began in August, you may have noticed the new face on the stage. Well, Here is the explanation. After Harrison Christie's announced replacement, Matt Duckbirth, flaked out shortly after our press release of his joining the band, we replaced him with Brian. Brian was known as the vocalist from the Binghamton/Rochester, NY band As This Body, I Exist. We worked with him intensely, brought him into the studio and recorded the new album. This album was recorded with Brian. VERY shortly there after we jumped in the van and headed out for tour with War From a Harlots Mouth, Fuck the Facts and Left to Vanish. Again, after the premature press release that Matt was joining our band, we wanted to make sure that Brian was indeed the kat for the band before we made it "official". We are now here to say that he is indeed the kat for the job. Be prepared for a notch up in the vocal brutality of Psyopus."

"Due to issues entirely beyond our control, the Saturday show at 5100 W. 38th Street, Indianapolis has been cancelled. More details will be available on our website soon.
"We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. Make-up dates are being considered, and we are certain to file legal action against the parties responsible for this situation.
"Thanks to all who came out to the show on Friday night -- it was a GREAT crowd and the bands were amazing. Though we were unable to give you the show we wanted to give you due to problems and code violations within the venue, I think we all pulled together as best we could and made the Friday night show one hell of a good show.

SWWAATS Cancels Tour With Psyopus
Guitarist Ian Sturgill, of Success Will Write Apocalypse Across the Sky, recently explained the cancellation of their upcoming tour with PSYOPUS, WAR FROM A HARLOTS MOUTH and FUCK THE FACTS:
"Recording delays have stretched our scheduling far into August and there is no way that we'll be able to make this tour rehearsed and ready to kick ass. 'The Grand Partition and the Abrogation of Idolatry' is our dominating obligation. The album must come first.
"We really regret missing this tour... amazing bands, amazing fans; we will be kicking ourselves in the dick once for each day of this tour that we couldn't perform on.
"The new lineup may be ready to perform live when the tour makes it's way through Florida in the beginning of September. We want to make damned sure that you people are getting your money's worth out of a S.W.W.A.A.T.S. show. We appreciate your understanding and continued support!"
The first installment of the S.W.W.A.A.T.S. studio videography should be available next week via grindingtheapparatus.net, metalinjection.net, and youtube.com/SWWAATSTube.

Psyopus Pull Out of Canadian Tour
Rochester, NY-based tech grindcore/hardcore outfit PSYOPUS has issued the following update:
"We at the PSYOPUS camp feel like real dousche bags but, we are sorry to explain to you that we are going to have to drop off of our Canadian dates with TODAY IS THE DAY, FUCK THE FACTS and COMPLETE FAILURE. Here's the story:"
"Back in January, PSYOPUS was kept from crossing the border for our small January tour. The reason started with the fact Arpmandude (Christopher Arp, guitar) has an attempted criminal mischief in the fourh conviction from 2001, and a violation of probation in 2002 where he served a month in jail. This was a flag warning for a bitch of a bitch of a bitch immigration woman who decided that Arpmandude was a 'risk to Canada.'" More...
Pillory Adds Ex-Psyopus Drummer, Seeks Guitarist
Pillory has announced the addition of former Pysopus drummer Jon Cole to their roster. Meanwhile, the band is currently looking for a new second guitarist. Here's the official word:
"We are proud to announce that Pillory has recruited the talents of Jon Cole for drumming duties. The material for our next album is completed and we will be spending the upcoming weeks preparing to record. We're shooting for an early summer release date with the goal to spend the summer playing lots of shows.
"We are also in the market for a second guitar player. Ideally we'd like to secure one before recording the album so we can start playing shows right after the release. Qualified candidates should have prior band experience, reliable gear, be willing to practice twice a week in Boston (Brighton practice space), play shows on a weekend warrior basis, and not take themselves too seriously. Please contact Chris at cdanecek@rcn.com if interested to tryout."
