Joey Jordison: "This Band Has Been My Life For 18 Years And I Would Never Abandon It"

In the thread that just won't die, Slipknot recently announced it had parted ways with Joey Jordison for "personal reasons."
Jordison himself has now issued the following statement about the situation online via his Facebook page:
"To my fans, friends, and associates...
"I would like to start the New Year by addressing the recent rumors and speculation regarding my departure from Slipknot. I want to make it very clear that I DID NOT QUIT SLIPKNOT.
"This band has been my life for the last 18 years, and I would never abandon it, or my fans. This news has shocked and blindsided me as much as it has all of you. While there is much I would like to say, I must remain silent to further details at this time.
"I would like to thank you all for your unwavering love and support, and wish everyone a very happy and healthy New Year."
With the two conflicting stories and neither side giving any details it appears Jordison was fired, and the current status of the band is unclear, although Slipknot is reportedly currently working on new material for release this year.

As skilled as he is, I still have serious doubts that Slipknot would bring him aboard. After all, instead of auditioning for a new bass player, they brought aboard Paul's brother. So they may value the local connection over international talent. If they don't go with a local unknown, maybe they plan to pull Roy Mayorga in to make the slipsour connection that much more concrete.

reading the tea leaves the past few years with this band jj was tired of waiting for taylor to get around with working with the band again, so if indeed he did not quit he was canned due to creative differences, the only other reason i could think of is if jj had a substance abuse or another severe problem with the band.
slioknot still draws well crowd wise, they have plenty of support, i myself aren't a fan of this band, but i was the first 2 albums and the demo, taylor has ruined this band, flat out incorperating his rock career with this band dialuting it to stone sour heavy or slipknot light.
the days of the first 2 records possibly coming back for this new album coming out are officially over.

Now back on topic: Joey made comments a while ago that Slipknot would continue with or without Corey Taylor. As Corey stated after Pauls death that he wasn't sure if they would continue since his passing. So I think there's a bit of tension between Corey and Joey but who knows.
Joey also had lots already written for the next Slipknot record but ended up using some of it for Scar the Martyr as he was tired waiting for the guys in Slipknot to start writing. Maybe that had something to do with it.

Though it's usually not my preferred style of rock/metal, I love Slipknot. It's also not a secret that people hate them with a passion. Plain and simple, everyone is entitled to their own opinions, and I don't really understand why everyone has to flip out whenever someone says something negative about a band they like. Who cares? If you like the band, someone else's opinion shouldn't infuriate you to that level lol

While I am a slipknot fan I believe Cory has been holding them back in heaviness lately along with being a doucey prima donna.
