It's definitely a much darker twist on a song meant for pretty much the opposite of what it's being used for, but nonetheless it's an extremely creative and beautiful twist on a clearly political song from the get-go. Some die-hard Lennon fans may not like it due to it's darker nature, but I say it's a step in the right direction to get the attention of people that think everything is as it seems.

I hated this song when it was performed by Lennon. He sang about it as if it was something to desire. When Maynard from APC performs this song, it makes you think about the lyrics as something to be afraid of. I couldn't agree more with the negative tone that is prominant throughout APC's dramatic performance of this song. I never thought a group could remake a song that was originally horrible into something this awesome.

I really liked Lennons and I really like this one too. I don't really see this version as saying its not something to be desired, more that in today's world it seems even more hopeless than when Lennon wrote it. This is a further reflection of how our world seems to be going to hell in a handbasket. The "no religion, too" line always makes me think of all the death and destruction that has been perpetuated in the name of some Higher Power, whether it's Christianity, Islam, or some other religion. It's almost like today's organized religions are about greed and power in this world and not about our souls and afterlife at all and I think APC has captured that feeling perfectly with this version.

I LOVE this song... this is by far my favorite version of this song... no offense to the hard core Lennon fans. This totally goes along with what many of us are thinking right now. It's about time somebody stood up and said something... even if they are using somebody else's material (they made this version their own though) I can't get enough of this song.
