Apocalyptica's 'Cult' Comes to the USA!

Apocalyptica's latest album, "Cult," will finally be released in the US on November 6 by Spitfire records. I got lucky and picked it up months ago while getting married in Slovakia, not realizing it would not be available in the US immediately. This album is mostly original material and is heavier than their previous Metallica (and other) covers.

From Spitfire's site:

Spitfire is pleased to announce that Finlands inimitable and mighty Apocalyptica have joined the fold. The four strong band of cellists have drawn considerable international acclaim through their successful and previously unheard of melding of ornate classical music and bombastic hard rock. The bands *heavy cello thunder* originally rose to notoriety with their debut album of Metallica covers but Apocalyptica have since gone on to garner massive approval from both the metal and classical worlds for their daring and innovative body of work. *Cult* will be released on 11/06/01.

And finally, they plan to release 'Hope Vol. II' as the next single on November 5th. To make it something special they've added two previous unreleased Apocalyptica cover versions on this single:

  • Slayer 'South Of Heaven'
  • Slayer 'Mandatory Suicide'
  • Metallica 'My Friend Of Misery'
