brad!! do you even know what industrial is. rammstein is a perfect example of industrial...yes ministry is a good band as well, but rammstein mixes guitars with keyboards very well. you cant beat that combo. rammstein is definately the best industrial band from europe, and probably in the world. no doubting that.

16. writes:
Rammstein is somewhat industrial with much heavier emphasis on rock. If you want industrial go to Skinny Puppy, some NIN, Wumpscut, DeathBoy, Die Form...industrial itself is not traditionally rock or metal even though some rock and metal bands incorporate its elements into their music. Either way Rammstein's still f***in' awesome and I'm really looking forward to their new album!

haha seems like you didn't every tried to translate the lyrics and find out what's written between the verses. rammstein shows the way america sux. America and USA are great countries but the song isn't a love song..it's showing the negative sides of america. the cultures are drowned by the american in evry or many countries. yeah. i am german. i know what the lyrics mean.

I like all the above mentioned bands but you guys shoulld check out
Frontline Assembly,Ohgr, the mighty Bile!, KMFDM, Einstrude Neubaten(sorry
Tob3 if I misspelled that!), Laibach, Kevorkian Death Cycle and the almighty
Electric Hellfire Club! Esp. their last album Electronomicon I believe they
are the only American band that ever recorded at th legendary Abyss studio
in Sweden!!

i love all those bands, including rammstein, while i mostly agree with the nessage
behind the song i do think that some of these bands and countries should stop
ripping on america. we're at war and they can either choose to support us or not.
they aren't forced to go to war with us.

Hiho!
It´s awesome to realiz that Rammstein is that popular and famous in the U.S., and their Lyrics are well known.
As their new Single "Amerika" really makes fun of some u.s.american "history" (video focuses the moon landing) like the Indians (u.s.americans) dancing around a tree (your stars and stripes) saying it is faked and also critical to some last human right mistreatments, I´m glad to see you like it.
BUT we germans would rather like to have this song named "Germania" and makin´ fun of our politics, because they also go right out the window.
Best wishes from Cologne, Germany.

FIRST OFF- Rammstein isn't industrial... they're dance metal (tanzmetal, i think it's called).
although they DO have elements of the industial genre, they are not, in fact, industrial. a GOOD example of an industrial band would be Einsturzende Neubauten. listen and learn.
The song (Amerika) is a political satire- of the globalistic and corrupting ways of The American Market- Which is WHY El Till-o is listing all those company names.. "Coca-Cola... Wonderbra" and then the corruption of other societies, as you can see.
Now, the reason they are in space suits (which is charming, in a way..) is because of the possibility that the moon landing was faked. I will NOT list evidence of this, lest this becomes too long of a comment, HOWEVER, it's another representation of America's tradition of lying.
If you want me to explain anything else... then you may contact me- But, if you do so, please do so in a calm, and comprehensible way.
=d~

Brilliant, as always.
I don't know why your all trying to classify Rammstein into a genre of music so you can justify that Rammstein is the best in it, or bettered by others. Any discerning music lover would recognize that Rammstein have their own style. It borrows from metal, rock and industrial, but there aren't any other bands out there who you'd say are similiar to them and to compare bands who sound nothing like another is ridiculous, they all have their pro's and con's and its all personal taste.
If you are closed-minded to Rammstein's music, don't waste your time trying to rile fans here by posting moronic "it sucks" crap. The fact of the matter is, this band is big. Either
-Get over it,
-Get better taste in music,
-Get a life and stop playing immature pranks on forums you pimply, introverted, antisocial, masturbating internet scum.

This interests me a great deal. I like Rammstein very much, and I am a big fan of their music, but I started thinking after I saw the "Amerika" music video. Correct me if I am wrong, but was it not Germany that, only 60 years ago, forced itself over the entire continent of Europe, killing anyone whom opposed them and murdering 6 million innocent people? Was it not Germany that forcibly tried to take over the world? Was it not Germany that turned its own people against eachother? Then it is interesting that a German band would mock the very country that intervened and 500,000 American men and women that died trying to keep Europe intact? I like that last line of the song... "Sometimes Coca-Cola, Sometimes War." The same could be true for Germany... "Sometimes Fast Cars, Sometimes Death Camps"...
As well, Rammstein seems to be a bit shortsighted seeing how the U.S. is a prime consumer of its records.
Again, I want to reiterate that I am not bashing the band, I still like them, but I think this particular song could have been thought out a little better.

i have developed so much more respect for rammstein after hearing and seeing Amerika - i like this song precisely because of its anti-american intonations. I hope that many bands in europe and around the world start to pass the same message and imagery in their songs as well amd raise the issue that something needs to be done to get all this hate and aggression out that's built up inside people before americans get afew more 747s up the ass! It's great to know that there are big bands in the west out there that are uneasy with the world domination of american big business and culture.

Don't you people realize that the germans created techno.... which inspried people to start making industrail music. If you don't like Rammstein's music that is fine, but at least give them the respect they deserve. They are doing their own thing that was born in germany. America didn't create industrail. Germany did.
Give them the props that they deserve.

77. writes:
Homer, all they are saying in the Amerika video is that American influcence is everywhere in the world. It's the truth. I hardly see how that can damage americans blown up ego, and this is coming from an american. Get over it. Also, the guys in Rammstein didn't have anything to do with germany 60 years ago. They also grew up in East Germany under communist rule. I am sure they have a different view on the world as americans. They probably notice little things like how much america infulences the rest of the world more that we americans world.
I appreciate their insight.

Interestingly enough, smoke stack, I don't have anything to do with the wars that the U.S. is fighting right now, and yet we are what makes up America, the citizens. We can vote all we want and yet never see our descisions made.
Maybe it would have been better had the Soviet Union won the Cold War. Then the world would have a whole lot more to complain about.

79. writes:
Hmmm some one (smoke stack) says Germans created techno... I think that is not true! :-) My gues is Belgium and the first ever to make some industrial was FRONT 242... and that is my gues tell me I'm wrong :-)
Rammstein simply rules I'm a fan for many years now. But I have a problem with the song "Amerika" it sounds verry good but the lyrics... to "anti american" but I did not yet have an explenation from the makers of te song to understand what they realy mean... sometimes Rammstein is not easy to understand what they realy mean. I know that some members of the Rammstein band live in the U.S. New York so they are part of that AmeriKa not? An other gues of me: They made the song "Amerika" just to provoke. These times it is cool to be anti-american in Europ but i do not want to be cool then. I like American's like I like Germans and Rammstein stays my nr 1 band.

83. writes:
I am American, and new to Rammstein....I've taken a deep liking to their music and hope they tour the US again. As far as the song "Amerika" goes, you can't say that we don't deserve it. I agree that the song could have been thought out a little better, but that's coming from an American perspective....however if I was German or another nationality I may have written it the same.

Rammstein is nice!!!!
but: why do you hear musik which is german???? you dont understand a word i think....
the new song amerika is funny i think in a litte part in english: to africa comes santa claus and in front of paris stands mickey mouse

Okay, okay... about the whole Coca-Cola thing... Sure, US companies have expanded their reach to nearly every corner of the world, and have found a niche in almost every market and economy. But really, is that such a bad thing? Somehow, I don't think the some little old dude in Bangladesh is going to be p***ed off at America because he has a choice to buy himself a coke.

If you are interestet in an other german singing band, I can recommend you the band "böhse onkelz" (the nasty uncles). Rammstein were influenced by this band. The singer doesn´t stress the spoken "R" like Till Lindemann from Rammstein does, but his voice is also hard. The (german) lyriks are better and the rythm is more melodicly.
I can recommend you the following songs:
- Das Tier in mir
- all songs from the album "Es ist so weit" (without the first, third and ninth song)
- Lack + Leder
- Tanz der Teufel
- Nur die Besten sterben jung
- Heut nacht
- Bin ich nur glücklich wenn es schmerzt ?
- Erinnerung
- Tanz der Teufel
- Bomberpilot
- ....
Ok, try to get this songs and listen to it. If you are interested in good, dark german lyric and very hard and melodic music , you won`t be disappointed.

Ryan and Brad, you pair of little b****es are no better than Lars fukking Ulrich. And that alone is punishable by crucifixion.
A Stein fan posts their love and respect for the band, and you girls counter with "rammstein f***ing sucks" or some other similarly braindead post.
I love Rammstein all the more now that they are doing what most musicians fear to do. Which is:
CANE THE ARSE OF YOU SICK, VILE, WAR-MONGERING, MONEY-GRUBBING AMERICAN SCUM OF THE EARTH!! I'll f***ING DIE BEFORE THE REST OF THE DIGNIFIED WORLD BECOMES THE FIFTY-FIRST STATE OF THE SICKEST JOKE IN HUMAN HISTORY!!
I WILL NOT CONFORM TO YOU FILTH!! AND NEITHER WILL ANYONE WITH HALF A BRAIN, HALF A HEART, AND HALF AN OUNCE OF SELF-RESPECT!!

No shade 666 it's cool! Man that Melvins show was fukkin phenomanal!
Not only I got to see the mighty Melvins but I got to see the Melvins doing
songs with Jello Biafra of the Dead Kennedys! ( I swear to fukking Satan
the dude was there!). It was the shiznit! Esp. when they played
California Uber Alles! Punk Rock/Metal crossover heaven!!!

If you fancy something different i suggest you guys pick up the Melvins
and Lustmord collaboration titled Pigs Of The Roman Empire awesome
blend of Dark electronic music with the crushing metal sludge sounds
of the Melvins! A must have for folks that like their music on a bleaker side!

142. writes:
They Ruled! Man to finally seeing Jello Biafra live was magickal! The
Dead Kennedys, Suicidal Tendencies and all the old school punk bands
holds a deep place in my heart. And I believe their music was very important in the development of the Metal of today. If folks dont believe
me ask Slayer, Metallica, and Anthrax and plus bands like Marduk and
Enochian Crescent what kind of music they grew up on. I know Victor from EC digs Bad Religon and stuff. And Mr. Anselmo love DRI and as I
like Metal the most . I just think Punk and Metal just go hand to hand.

144. writes:
Metal is like the deformed, abused, shunned bigger brother of Punk. Punk and Metal have been influencing each other on and off for about 40 years, However, in my opinion (and thats all it is: one persons opinion) Punk simply dosen't have the balls, attitude and all around vibe that it takes to entertain me. I'm not a Punk hater - I'd rather see Pop and (C)rap die than Punk Rock.
R.I.P Johnny Ramone - your contribution to music will never be forgotten.

145. writes:
punk is boring. DRI Bad religion ...etc..are boring as s**t - can't believe newer heavy metal fans actually listen to it - must be trendy cos "the cool bands like 'em". It's awesome how hard rock keeps redefining and changing - mostly for the better! Pop is good and so is rap, but punk is plain boring unless its mixed with either of the other two!
