After The Burial Releases New "This Life Is All We Have" EP, Issues Album Update
After The Burial's new EP, "This Life Is All We Have," is available now on iTunes, Google Play, and Amazon MP3 . This three-song release shows the band revamping very early tracks with new vocals from current vocalist Anthony Notarmaso.
This special digital EP was produced, engineered and mixed by renowned producer Terry Date alongside guitarists Justin Lowe and Trent Hafdahl. Lowe states:
"I'd like to extend a HUGE thank you to everyone who has checked out the streams or even picked up a copy of this new EP. We had always toyed around with the idea of revisiting some of these old jams, but it hadn't really made sense to us yet. However, after talking about it more and more, we realized these are songs we will always play live. Ultimately, we wanted to give you the best representation of what to expect on stage every night, so we decided to go in and recreate these songs for you again from the ground up. When it came to the production, it was an absolute pleasure and honor for us to have the opportunity to work together with Terry Date, which was something we were all very, very excited about.
"Right now we are currently right in the middle of the tracking process of our new album. We're almost finished with the guitars, with just a couple tracks to go. When we track the guitars for our albums we like to take our time getting the good takes, not relying on too much editing. There also usually tends to be changes being made along the way, with new ideas being born within the tracking process.
"If I had to describe the sound of the new material in one shot, it wouldn't be easy. We've dedicated a lot of time working on these songs to make sure that you are hearing something fresh and new. Something that makes you feel good when you hear it. There's some 6,7 and 8 string work in there and also a new lower tuning in C#. It's hard to describe the sound unless you hear it. It's almost 'mechanical' and very percussive. We love trying all sorts of new ideas, sounds, and pushing boundaries of new musical territory that will help set us apart from the rest. We've never been afraid to try anything; we want to keep you on your toes."
