Ash Avildsen, founder of Summer Slaughter, comments on this year's edition of the tour: “It's year seven and I think 2013's line-up is the most exciting and diverse yet. Slaughter has never been a one dimensional experience for fans. This year is a true testament to that as we have an amazing mix of extreme music's influential icons and leaders of the new school. Let the underground unite!"
Greg Puciato (Dillinger Escape Plan vocalist) states: “We can't wait to get back on the road! We're launching a US tour in the spring, hitting Europe for some festivals and club shows, and then hitting several more cities with Summer Slaughter all summer long. We are absolutely amped. After being holed up in the studio for such a long time giving birth to One of Us is the Killer, we are all pent up and ready to share material new and old with our supporters doing what we love to do the most. Can't wait to see and either kiss or rip off each and every one of your faces on the road with Summer Slaughter and year round, everywhere.”
Be sure to visit the tour's Facebook profile for all up-to-date news and ticketing information.

Hi,I also can agree for Summer Slaughter this lineup is lame but..are a couple bands I still wanna see but..once I heard Mayhem fest lineup..I knew ths lineup wouldn't be that good 2 reasons 1.Wacken-Germany 2.Mayhem Fest has some of the bands this show was interested in as well. Also lots of the bands I like only do so..many shows a year or they just are not known well enough yet sad to say. I'd love to see on..this bill Jungle Rot,Crytopsy,Ken Mode,Decide,Soul Fly,Sepultura etc..so agree most extreme not true at lest this year.

Asides from Revocation, these are all bands I've never seen. Ive always been more surprised from live bands than in studio. Kind of interested to see them, even if they're not bands I'm really into. Pretty sure this tour will be part of Heavy MTL, f u c k it, Im in.

f*** you Summer Slaughter! Getting gayer and gayer every f***ing year. Only band i care to see is Aeon, and I am not throwing down like $30 or some sh** just to see them. Probably would play first too cause you guys certainly wouldn't want them to headline and mop the f***ing floor with all the other bands. I mean I do like Revocation and Cattle Decapitation, but grow some balls for f***s sake. Also, quit putting repeat bands on the bill too. I'll be passing this year

I really don't understand why people coming to this site aren't excited by this line up... you are simply in the wrong place lol.
TDEP, Norma Jean, Revocation, and The Ocean all have at least one 4.5/5 rated album in the review section.
Animals As Leaders, Periphery, and Cattle Decapitation seem to have generally positive support at a quick glance through the recent articles written about them.
I am honestly most excited to see The Ocean more than anyone else on this list, their upcoming album seems to be their best work yet. That is saying something about a band like The Ocean have 5 incredible and individually unique LPs already.
