Periphery To Support Deftones For March Tour Dates

The Washington, D.C. based metal outfit Periphery will be direct support to the Deftones throughout North America from March 4th through March 30th (Periphery isn't on the dates from 3/1-3/6).
The group are still touring in support of "Periphery II: This Time It’s Personal," which was voted the #3 album of 2012 by Guitar World Magazine. Misha Mansoor (guitars) states:
“Deftones have been one of my favorite bands of all time since I discovered them when I was about 14 or so. That was around when I first started playing drums and guitar, and they were such a huge influence on my approach to music, writing and even the kinds of tones and sounds I was after. What is even more amazing is that in the 14 years since, they have consistently put out some of my favorite albums of all time, with Koi No Yokan being no exception to that. I can't even put into words how excited I am that Periphery is going to be touring with them in March. This is a bucket list tour for me.”
Matt Halpern (drums) further comments: “We couldn't be more excited to be direct support for the Deftones. As a band, they have inspired each one of us and it's truly an honor to be able to share the stage with them. We can't wait to get back out and see our current fans and hopefully make some new ones with on of our absolute favorite bands!"

actually Cozen, i think that Charlotte show was canceled because Defotnes may play the Carolina Rebellion festival that same weekend (which is in Charlotte this year). Alice In Chains is gonna play that show as well, and the rumor is that Deftones and Soundgarden are gonna play that show.

Love the Deftones. I have since right before "Around the Fur" came out. They're worth seeing no matter who opens.
Periphery sound great up to a point, but the clean vocals are a deadringer for Chester Bennington of Linkin Park... and I can't have that. I'm quite open to the idea of clean vocals delivered over Meshuggah-style instrumentals but just not -those- clean vocals. It feels wrong, like bad-touch wrong. :)

Richp***ed don't be maad, I'm telling ya, they are gonna paly the Carolina Rebllion festival at the Charlotte Motor Speedway May 4th or 5th. they should be co-headlining one of those days with Alice In Chains. I think they got offered more money to play the festival so that's why they canceled the Fillmore gig.

@KREDD, Joey V. - thanks for the update. Now I have to choose between a possible Charlotte show or heading down to Myrtle Beach. Much more to do in downtown Charlotte.
RM: I'll relisten to Periphery. Never really got too into them, but I thought I remembered liking a few songs I heard on Sirius/XM Liquid Metal.

***UPDATE***
Just watched the Periphery video for "Make Total Destroy" and I definitely feel violated. I don't remember that at all. Maybe I pulled into my garage right as Linkin Park invaded the band and missed it.
RM: Your assessment is spot on and Periphery has no bearing on my choice for Deftones venue.
