Dave Mustaine Of Megadeth Disapproves Of Metallica Documentary "Some Kind Of Monster"

Megadeth mainman Dave Mustaine has told MTV.com that got stabbed in the back by Metallica and filmmakers Joe Berlinger and Bruce Sinofsky after he agreed to help them out with the $4.3 million movie "Some Kind of Monster." In one of the most powerful scenes in the film, Mustaine confronts Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich about being kicked out of the band in 1982 for being a belligerent drunk.
"If you watch the stuff linearly, it's totally different," Mustaine said. "They filmed three hours of us together and they only used about five minutes. Why didn't they use the part where Lars gets up and walks to the bathroom crying because I let him have it because of the shit that happened?"
Mustaine told MTV.com that after the filmed therapy session, he was handed release papers, which he agreed to sign, provided he was given the chance to OK the footage he was in after it was edited. More than a year later he was sent a tape of his scene, which he was extremely unhappy with. So he talked to one of the movie's directors and sent a message to Metallica stating that he didn't want his scene released.
"It didn't mean anything to them," Mustaine said. "Then Lars put his spin on it, saying, 'Well, we looked at [his statement], and we couldn't figure out if it was him or the management saying it.' Who gives a fuck? We didn't approve it, and that's all that should have mattered. I can't think of anybody who has frustrated and hurt me more over the years than Lars."
"I had no idea I was getting set up," Mustaine continued. "And the thing I don't understand is that for 20 years they've said that I was the temporary guitar player, and that I was no good. You don't talk about me, and basically pretended that I never even existed, and now I'm so goddamn important I gotta be in the movie? Give me a break."

Metallica has sucked every since the Black album, and they will continue to suck with whatever scheme they come up with next. Lets do a symphony orchestra deal , no lets do a garage revisted, no lets do this St . anger garbage, and now its a movie..... who cares. it will suck !!!! .

There are people out there who think they know Dave. And they don't. Not really. There's only one way to really know him.
Dave Mustaine is EXTREMELY talented, all around, in so many aspects!! Just because what he has done musically is not as "popluar" as Metallica doesn't mean ANYTHING!
What's right isn't always popular,
and what's popular isn't always right.

Now its always sad when two great bands fight. And fans fight. I love both bands. It's like now when my dad like " Why are you listening to this crap?" when i listen to Rage Against the Machine. he's like " Go pop in this Slipknot." I love both of them. like anybody ever listened to Rage? that guy was seriously right about this world. I don't know last week i beat the sh** out of this chick cuz she said that i need to wear a different color besides black and i need to listen to some britney spears and usher. she was like " your just an angry teen who needs to go to church. you need to wear something besides black. then i poped her in the nose and she went down. i just walked away shaking my head.

What a f***ing moron. Dave let Lars have it? For what? Kicking a f***ing junkie out of their band? Listen as far as I am concerned both bands should call it a day. St. Anger was crap and Mustaine's latest is garbage with only two damn songs being worthy of an album to begin with (thank you album leak). It's got St. Anger beat but that's not saying much.
I know Lars is a crafty little weasel, which is why I am not buying the fact Mustaine let him "have it" and he "cried". Seriously, you were a f***ing junkie and deserved being fired, no wonder the band made Master Of Puppets AFTER Mustaine left. And it's not like Megadeth was unable to make great albums, so why is he complaining about being stabbed in the back? You weren't! If someone compromises your future by not being able to get it together, you send them on a bus and keep going.
It's life and if he had been as "loyal" to them as he claims they should have been to him, he should have recognized his problems and quit himself.

Metallica were all a bunch of belligerent drunks, not just Dave - hence the "Alcoholica" nickname given the band (I believe after Dave left). They clearly did not fire Mustaine for drinking. Dave - do you really think you would have been happy in Metallica for the last 20 years, while James & Lars ran things like dictators? Would you have sat back the entire 20 years while Lars ran the business end and James wrote the music? Kirk has taken a backseat to those guys the whole time. And when Jason tried to put his two cents in, he was out of the band. I'm sure Trujillo is getting sh*t on like they hazed Jason when he joined the band. Dave, you're a leader, not a follower like Kirk Hammett. If you had remained, I see your creative input and overall role in the band being squashed by James and Lars. There isn't much room for a thrid alpha.
I can't wait for the new Megadeth album. I'm sure Dave will not be afraid to solo, unlike the overrated James and Kirk on St. Anger. Whatever happened to real metal? Hopefully Dave will show us that it is still alive.

Well, I just saw the metallimovie and got some thing's to share. First of all Dave you were at least in it.
Your actual camera time was just a little shorter than Jason's and he was in it for 15 year's. Hell if it
were'nt for the Echobrain stuff it would have been even. It is extremely obvious that this film is all about
JAMES, REHAB, JAMES, REHAB, AND MORE f***ING JAMES AND REHAB!!
I FIND IT WIERD THAT THEY CHOSE TO GO NATIONAL WITH THIS THING. I LOVE THIS BAND BUT

There is also a scene where Robert is looking around the studio for a bass to use for his audition.
Assuming the metalliboy's would have at least one bass amongst all this sh** they have.

By the way, Rob's inclusion in this film is minimal and he is told on camera that if this project didn't
do well it would not affect his ca$h flow. We all know these boy's got money but buisness is just that !
No explanation for some of the cool riff's for son'g that didn't make it to St Anger. Why Lars decided to
to ruin his great drum sound on f***ing purpose ! Why Kirk chose to improve his rythym chop's and
toss his lead chop's to the side??
Dave Mustaine is good but he is not great. He would not be in Metallica today If he never drank a drop.
Sure losing a friend suck's, but we got the Metallica we were supposed to get.

With Dave and Cliff being gone it gave James and Lars complete control. I mean think about it yeah they can say its equal but when sh** hits the fan who's gonna argue with the two of them about Metallica? If it were still James, Lars, Cliff and Dave it'd be insane for them to just put out an album. None of them would take a backseat to anyone. And mix the songs from Metallica and Megadeth during the same time period on one CD and tell me that Dave being in the band wouldn't have made the band better. Yes, Metallica was better than Megadeth but Dave alone running the show is better than anything the guys from Metallica are capable on their own. I mean think if these songs came from the same band; Symphony of Destruction, Sweating Bullets, Master of puppets, Battery, Fade to Black, One, Tout Le Monde, Crush Em, Peace Sells.

ok, i like both metallica and megadeth, but, apparently no one knows how much better mustaine is than hetfield and hammett put together? im a guitar player, and i know almost every metallica solo, but i can only play about 10 megadeth solos, why? because mustaine's solos are so much better and technical than hammetts, i mean, listen to the mother f***ers, FAST a$$ sh**!! dave mustaine is THE MOST under-rated guitarist in the world, he is THE BEST!! and hardly anyone knows it, on top of the catchy kick a$$ riffs, and impossible solos, HE SINGS WHILE HE IS DOING THE sh**!!! so all u popular metallica endousers, kiss my ass, mustaine is the best, by far. i like metallica alot, but dave surely could whoop metallica's a$$ any day. But the 2 together would be a great combonation. But just for a comparison of "soloing" listen to "Hit the Lights" by metallica, 1983 Kill em All, then listen to.....Holy Wars.....Hangar 18.......She wolf.....Poison was the cure, ANY MEGADETH SONG!! ill guarntee u will be amazed by hit the lights, but u will be so much more amazed by megadeth solos. MUSTAINE IS THE BEST EVER!!!! stay metal
