Paul Stanley Interview About KISS

KISS guitarist/vocalist Paul Stanley recently spoke to PressOfAtlanticCity.com about the group's current tour, the absence of original members Peter Criss and Ace Frehley and his upcoming solo album. Several excerpts from the interview follow:

Q: Are Peter and Ace done for good?

Paul Stanley: "Yeah. No question. I wish both of them the best, but they don't belong in the band. You can't have members coming and going and we don't know what to expect and the fans don't know what to expect. It's unacceptable at some point. It's just better for everybody. I hope they pursue what makes them happy. Meanwhile, the band continues because it should. The team and the army is about making sure the athlete or the soldiers believe in the cause. That's what makes for a victory. When people no longer share the same drive or focus, it's neither fair to the band or the fans."

Q: What do you think about Gene's new solo album?

Paul Stanley: (long pause) "No comment. Let's just say, I hope it's what he wanted to do. He reaps the benefits or takes the ... criticism. If this is the album he chose to make, then he deserves what he gets, either way."

Q: You had the best solo album all of those years ago. Don't you have the itch for another one?

Paul Stanley: "It's been in the works for a while; I'm just not on a soap box talking about it. It's half done. I'm not about selling sizzle. My album's about delivering a steak. It won't matter who's involved or what color the cover is. That's what it's not about. I want to release it sometime around the New Year."

I know alot of people in the KISS ARMY might want my head on a platter for saying this, but c'mon now, Kiss sux already. They've never, I repeat never been any good.I keep trying to get into it but I frankly get embarassed listening to them. They really need to call it a day.Did they not actually have a farewell tour? I could have sworn they did.Dimmu Borgir.,Now that's a band.Cradle of Filth. They know how to put on makeup.

you must be a dumb son of a b**** considering the fact that you think Dimmu Borgir or Cradle of Filth are better bands than Kiss. LOL. In five years from now Dimmu and Cradle will be as forgotten as... well now that I think of it , I heard of Cradle but have never known anyone to own their sh**, and as for Dimmu buger, who the f*** are they? Give me a break, the only ones with any talent in those kinds of bands are the drummers. If your gonna compare a band to Kiss try Led Zeppelin, or Black Sabbath, or someone good enough anyway.

Thanks for acknowledging the fact that my two aforementioned bands DB and COF are in your categorization of "those kinds of bands". Which to me means that you label them in a category far removed from bands like KISS, LED ZEPPELIN, and Sabbath.Of which they should be. I myself categorize KISS personally in my "sounds like sh** " list. I love Sabbath, for without them there would be no Slayer,VENOM,SLIPKNOT,CANNIBAL CORPSE,DEICIDE,...but KISS?, The only thing I think they contributed to metal is over priced tickets, schloky merchandise, and a stage show that my nephew's kindergarden class can recreate, and with better pyro.Dimmu and Cradle are poor examples to compare to KIss, so I'll compare Kiss to Shaun and David Cassidy, Leif Garrett and Scot Baio for good measure. Can Kiss now call it a day?
