"some music was meant to stay underground..."

Six Feet Under Streaming New Single "18 Days" Online

Today Guitar World is hosting an exclusive premiere of “18 Days,” the second official single off the new album from death metal tyrants Six Feet Under. The track comes off the band’s soon-to-be disengaged "Undead" full-length scheduled for North American release on May 22nd, 2012 through Metal Blade Records. Offering up 12 tracks of uncompromising sonic brutality, the record was produced by Mark Lewis (Deicide, Devildriver) and mixed by Jason Suecof (Whitechapel, Job For A Cowboy), at Audio Hammer Studios in Sanford, Florida.

Commented vocalist Chris Barnes: “Creating an album is a lot of work and a lot of focus, but we didn’t really have too many hiccups in the recording. It went really smooth, and it was pretty much the most effortless album we’ve ever tracked. I had a great, great time working on this album; it was so much fun because everything seemed so new again.”

Feast your ears on “18 Days” at this location. The following press release was also issued:

"Now featuring Barnes, possessor of one of the most dominating voices of the death metal genre, alongside guitarist Rob Arnold (ex-Chimaira), longtime guitarist Steve Swanson (ex-Massacre), bassist Jeff Hughell (ex-Brain Drill, ex-Vile), and drummer Kevin Talley (Dying Fetus, Misery Index, Chimaira), Six Feet Under 2012 finds the band recharged and churning out some of the most severe, thought-provoking and downright horrific tunes of their epic discography.

"In conjunction with the release of Undead, Six Feet under will embark upon a near three-week run of live rituals this June. Dubbed the 18 Nights Of Blood Tour, the beatings will begin in Atlanta, Georgia on June 8 and ravage its way across the country before coming to a close on June 29 in Tampa, Florida. Support will be provided by Dying Fetus and Revocation."

Finally 6 Feet Under is touring the US but..come on NO Toronto Ont or even Vancouver BC date come on. I am Happy kinda but..chocked as well cause I hate Dying lame Fetus but..Revocation unsure on fully yet. So I'm torn is it WORTH going or not darn it. It would BE sweet if they played 1-2 Summer Slaughter dates though.

God that was depressing for me......
That intro riff was sooooo nasty, and then Barnes............
I need to stop listening to this band and constantly being disappointed by his vocal style. It sucks because the music behind the vocals were soooo fvckin' good. Oh well, to each his own.

WOW!!!
I remember when Barned left Cannibal, I was bummed and I HATED their debut "Haunting".
I never listened to them again after that.
But damn, as much as I love new Cannibal this sounds more like old Cannibal than Cannibal does.
This could have come right off "The Bleeding".
And for people who are saying his voice is shot?
Huh...I haven't even heard him in over a decade and he sounds better than ever. I might have to pick this one up.

I don't have a problem with his voice being shot Brian, I just have never cared for his particular vocal style. It's always bothered me ever since I heard Hammer Smashed Face for the first time years ago. His voice just doesn't do much for me, which is a shame because his band is phenomenal.

But as I said to each his own. This band has a big following and who am I to stomp on his vocals? Just not my thang lol.

OHHHH...sorry ZMA!!!
That wasn't a shot at you.
I first read about this story at that "other" web site lol.
People were rippin on his vocals big time.
I honestly thought Fischer was the better fit for Cannibal.
Barnes was awesome on Eaten but on Butchered he really started in with the "groos and graaaws" a little too much. But after all these years he sounds pretty good. His voice has held up much better than Benton's or Vincent's.

Yea I hear ya bro. No worries. I didn't exactly think that was directed towards me since I didn't really say his vox were "shot" just not my cup o' tea lol. But I feel what you're sayin'.

For the type of vocals he does I think he held up pretty good from "Hammer Smashed Face" till this album.

I keep trying dude lol. I wanna like them because the band is crazy. That intro riff was off the hook, but then when Chris came in the same thing happened for me like with all the other tracks I gave listens to. But I sat through the whole thing to see if maybe my thoughts would shift direction.
Sadly that didn't happen. I should just find instrumental versions their songs lmao.

CorpusUpir, yea that's worked a few times with bands I didn't like. I'm sure they put on a pretty intense live show but it's all about Barnes for me. I just don't know if his vocals will do it for me live or not. I downloaded this song though, because I literally could not get that beginning riff outta my head lol.

Yea it's Rob's riffs lmao. That intro is so fvcking good. Probably the only SFU song I'll ever download. Rob Arnold is one of my favorite guitarists and of course he goes to the one band I don't like that much after he leaves Chimaira. Go figure lol.
