Artillery's Founding Member Carsten Nielsen Departs Band, Announces First U.S. Shows
Artillery's founding member, drummer Carsten Nielsen, announced his departure from the band and the final shows that he will be part of, which include the band's first ever dates in the United States. In a post on his Facebook page, Nielsen stated:
"For personal reasons I have chosen to leave the Danish Thrash Metal Band Artillery. It's something I've thought about for a long time and I have already informed the guys in the band and I can announce that the last shows I'm playing with ARTILLERY will be:
April 28 - Barroselas, Portugal @ SWR Barroselas Metalfest (15th edition)
May 03 - Heavy Agger, Denmark @ Agger
May 04 - Lions and Barrels, Denmark @ Copenhagen
(will be celebrating our 30th birthday for Artillery)
May 05 - Wuustweeze, Belgium @ Puntpop 2012
May 25 - Baltimore, MD USA @ Maryland Death Fest X
May 26 - New York, NY USA @ Saint Vitus Bar in Greenpoint, Brooklyn
May 30 - Buenos Aires, Argentina @ Astbury Argentina
May 31 - Santiago, Chile @ Teatro Teleton
Jun 01 - Belo Horizonte, Brazil @ Music Hall
Jun 02 - São Paulo, Brazil @ Hangar 110
Jun 03 - Recife, Brazil @ Teatro Mauricio de Nassau
Jun 04 - Porto Alegre, Brazil @ Bar Opinião
And to all the nice people I have met during my time in ARTILLERY, I will just say a huge thank you to; I will never forget the good reception and response I have received."
Nielsen went on to say that he will likely start a new punk rock band:
"I will after the last show, take a little break and then I'll probably go back to my roots and try to find some guys in the Copenhagen Area who want to play some good old fashioned Punk Rock together with me .."
