The Sabians Join The Cartel
The Sabians, featuring ex-members of cult doom outfit Sleep, have signed to The Music Cartel and will be entering Tiny Telephone Studio with producer Alex Newport (At The Drive-In, The Melvins) to record their debut full-length.
The Sabians formed in 1999 when former Sleep members Justin Marler and Chris Hakius came together to create "powerful, pensive sounds." The band is currently a quartet with influences ranging from Johnny Cash to Ozzy to Byzantine chant.
The Sabians' debut album, Beauty for Ashes is expected in early 2002 on The Music Cartel.
