Black Sabbath Responds To Bill Ward Statement; Reunion To Proceed Without Him

Band Photo: Black Sabbath (?)
It appears the Facebook snubbing between Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward continues. Black Sabbath has decided to proceed with the album and tour without the drummer with the following response to Bill Ward's recent post:
"We were saddened to hear yesterday via Facebook that Bill declined publicly to participate in our current Black Sabbath plans...we have no choice but to continue recording without him although our door is always open... We are still in the UK with Tony. Writing and recording the new album and on a roll... See you at Download!!!

I'd pay to see Vinny with em and I'll buy the fvcking album. I'm stoked for new Sabbath with Ozzy up front. Doesn't really negate anything for me. I've seen Bill with em plenty of times. Bring on the album! \m/\m/ It would have been nice to see the original line up again, but it certainly isn't a deal breaker for me in any way.

No Bill Ward-no Sabbath! I saw the '97 Ozzfest with Mike Bordin behind the kit;awesome, but not the true Sabbath. Glad i saw Ward with Sabbath in '99 and '05. Its about recording new material with the ORIGINAL members, then a final tour. Wards no hired hand like some of Ozzy's past drummers. He deserves his fair split on this 'cash cow' final album and tour.

Good, get his a$$ outta here. And u "true re-union" asshats have to realize theres this thing called money, and most people will do anything to get MORE. f*** those people, and f*** their whining. When u have millions as this a$$hole has, and ur willing to publicly state that u WON'T do the reunion unless he gets more of something (probably money) then he shouldn't continue with it. The rest of the band responded as any adult would with a child, called the bluff. Now the band can continue without being hindered by a bandmate that needs more than the others.

Looks to me like it was staged all along. Bill probably has poor health and can't do it anymore so this comes along and poof!, the excuse to use a replacement drummer.
I'm sure the other three aren't hurting for money, so then do it for the FANS, remember, we bought YOUR albums and YOU made money. Sabbath is only Sabbath with Bill in it, not a continuation of Heaven and Hell with Ronnie being replaced with Ozzy.

If you are going to propose a full reunion, tour and album, with original members...then it negates everything that was set forth. I saw the reunion in '99 & '05 and that's what I'm hoping for now. It won't be the same if Bill isn't on the album. I'll still buy the album but won't see the tour

^ And Bill is the legs - different function, equally important.
Is anyone else disappointed in the way they handled this?
"saddened"? Is that all they are? They've known Bill most their lives and they're just saddened.
And don't get me started on the whole "no other choice..."
Canned statement indeed. Gotta admit. You called it Hellrat.

This isnt a deal breaker but this is realy bad news. as a drummer my self this sucks bill is a better drum than most give him credit for. PAY THE MAN WRITE UP A NEW CONTRACT. METAL IS MORE IMPORTANT RIGHTNOW! The tour and album will still be amazing by any meens but its quite sad

Sounds like it won't be a true reunion. I still stand behind Bill on this.
