^it's not about being a good singer, its's about creating a dark and evokative atmosphere. Death metal vocals in general arent supposed to be taken in the same context as regular "singing", they're intended more like another deep bass instrument, in order to make the song sound more forcefull.

If you think that's bullsh**, then answer me how in the hell Nirvana is so popular. Kurt Cobain is hardly what I would call a good singer, but he used his voice in a way to support the style of music he was playing.

Death metal vocals are supposed to be received in the same way, in relation to the harsher and generally darker instrumentation they usually accompany.

Respectable? Wha? Is that the way your talkin'? So who's respectable to you, I'd like to know! LMFAO
Like Jayballer14 says...it's not your thing, you don't get it. That's fine dude. It's Xtreme music for people that can wrap their minds on different stuff than whatever they've been fed through the mainstream. And these guys are AWESOME!!!

Im not gonna waste my time naming respectable bands that actually have meaning, or have influenced the genre of metal or rock. Because you would just bash to bash, because of what im saying about death metal. The fact is death metal is a horrific style of sh**, that u consider music. Growling in a f***ing microphone for 5min is not music. So keep telling yourself its good, and so far from the "mainstream" that everyone else is fed, except you fools.

Man, KornDogg, you're really not making any friends on this thread.

I understand that you don't appreciate death metal, and I'm not asking you to. But when you post on here stating your opinion as an undeniable fact without any actual facts to back it up, it is not a very persuasive argument.
And also when you degrade the people that DO find value within this style, then you're just being divisive.

Is that what you're going for? I'm not really sure what you intended to accomplish with your comments.

^ lol, I agree with you, its not fact. Just my opinion. Im just going for what everyone else on this site does when they dont like something. Example, any korn, a7x, ect thread. So i guess im just venting. I do however find it funny that people will bash those type of bands as being "mainstream" but can stand to listen to this garbage that could never have a possibility of being popular. Its not because they choose not to sell records, its because not too many people can actually respect this genre of metal. There is a big difference in selling out and selling records. Period.

And to clear up what i know is coming, Im not saying being popular means anything, Im stating the fact that some of you will bash popular bands as being sellout, talentless, not real metal bands. But when in reality this band or any other death metal band is not popular because nobody wants to hear it!

KORNDOGG, yer so bitter it's beyond funny. I know many rapper dudes who give much respect to death metal vox cuz the skill involved and the rhythmic flow. And there's a difference between good death metal vox & bad. You just can't tell cuz you've closed yer mind. These here, are good. There are many bands who are VERY popular who use this style, see Behemoth, Opeth, etc. we all could go on and on. Really yer just xposing yer ignorance to whole genres, which really makes yer opinion here worth...well, not much. Go enjoy whatever it is you enjoy.
