Black Tusk Announces New Tour Dates And Issues Recording Update

Black Tusk will play a handful of shows this weekend around Georgia and North Carolina. The Savannah show will be the band's first home-town performance in over six months. Black Tusk has been writing for a new full-length album and will be playing many new songs during these shows.

Black Tusk will enter the studio in June with engineer Jack Endino (HIGH ON FIRE, SOUNDGARDEN, BRUCE DICKINSON) to begin recording the band's third full-length album and follow-up to "Taste The Sin." The as-yet-untitled album is expected to see a late fall 2011 release. Additional recording / album information will be posted shortly.

Black Tusk also sees the re-issue of debut album "Passage Through Purgatory" later this month through Relapse Records. "Passage Through Purgatory" has been re-mastered, re-packaged with expanded Baizley artwork, and includes two bonus tracks. The re-issue will be released on May 24th and will be available on CD, 12" vinyl, and digitally.

The band's tour dates are as follows:

May 12 Savannah, GA The Pony Pen
May 13 Asheville, NC The Get Down
