I can't look at your comment without laughing. I knew it wouldn't be long before a Troll came in. If you don't like the band then why even bother checking out posts about them?
Same for all other Trolls, if you hate the band so much why waste time commenting and b****ing about a band that you hate. Would it not be better commenting on bands that you actually like?
7. writes:
^^^No actually it wouldn't. FAN served a purpose with his post. Those who doubted this would ever be as good as their first efforts need not waste their time listening to it now thanks to FAN. Negative opinions are just as important (if not more) than positive opinions. FAN is NOT a troll. He's a regular here. Conversely you are not even a member and the only point of your last post was to relay the message that you don't like it when people say bad things about Korn. Grow a spine. Quit crying and learn your place. Now GTFO...

8. writes:
LOL I knew it wouldn't be long before the biggest troll on this site came into a Korn thread. If there are any posts about Korn or Slipknot then you're normally always in there running your mouth (BG1)
Maybe once you've left your moms basement and stop listening to Justin Beiber then you can finally step to me.
But until then...
9. writes:
There was nothing trollish about my comemnt (or FAN's for that matter). You just can't handle it when someone gives it to you straight. Typical "mom's basement" reply from an average villiage idiot was completely expected. Why don't you actually address what I posted instead of trying to change the subject? Afraid i'm gonna be a mean internet man?
10. writes:
Why do people always use the "go listen to justin beiber" thing... This is a metal site, assuming someone listens to beiber here and using it as an insult is a bit ridonkulous. If you want to have pointless arguments like that, go do it with all the other retards arguing on youtube videos.
About the song, Korn gone techno lol... I thought their last album was a small step in the right direction, but with this it seems like they're going back to songs like Coming Undone, I hate that song so much

12. writes:
I didn't say you had a trollish (if that's even a word?) comment. What i said was that when there is anything posted about Korn or Slipknot the trolls appear to moan about why they don't like anything they do. Why bother when you all clearly don't like these bands? I listen to various genres of music and always approach music with an open mind, regardless of who the band is. If I then find that I don't like that music I don't go and b**** about it on forums.
Also, you didn't like the moms basement reply? Did it get you upset? Is it because it's true?
13. writes:
Yeah 213. You got me there. Seriously, as gutter mentioned, you're sh!t is old and tired material that's been heard and read too many times. Your pathetic attempt at insults would embarrass the average MU member, so until you actually have something to say besides "quit saying mean things about korn" or "you live in your mother's basement and listen to Beiber", please don't bother infecting the mighty MU with your imbocilic fodder.
14. writes:
You know, for some time I wondered what happened to Korn.
Then it hit me; OF COURSE! They lost the most talented musicians in the band: Brian Head Welch and David Silveria!
After Head left, they suddenly ran out of ideas ( Head's solo album "Save Me From Myself" has more ideas and inspiration than all post-Head Korn albums put together) and when Silveria left, there went what was left of the aggression and punch of the 'true' Korn.
No matter what you say, the truth can be clearly heard in the Korn discography.

15. writes:
What's the deal with all the complaining on these sites? The exact same thing happens on Blabbermouth!
213 had a good point, far too many trolls about.
@BG1 don't get your knickers in a twist, the dude is probably just baiting you in and it looks like you fell for it.
Anyway, this song is a bit different from korns usual stuff but after a few listens it's starting to grow on me.
16. writes:
It's not a matter of trolling or baiting by any stretch of the imagination. It's a matter of people having their own opinions. Just because someone doesn't like the latest Korn album doesn't mean they're a troll. The fact that they come here to expres their opinions (good or bad) isn't the be all end all of any discussion. Last I checked people who consider themselves "metal heads" had thick enough skin to endure someone's opinion which may differ from their own and respect it without crying about it like a little b!tch. Taking what i've said at face value in this thread one may consider me a "hater" of Korn. It may surprise you to find out that I know them personally (with the exception of the new guys). Have been to dinner with them on several different occasions and even partied with them a few times. I'm not a troll or a hater. I'm just honest.

18. writes:
If it's not baiting then why did you bother replying to his comment if you are so thick skinned? Just ignore him and I'm sure he'll give up arguing with you.
As a said, it's exactly the same on blabbermouth, too many people crying about bands they don't like and people crying about people that don't like their bands.
Who cares!!

20. writes:
MTD: Because (in case you haven't noticed) there's a point to it. Something to learn from it.
Also, I noticed in your reply to Wolf that you are confusing Korns economic worth with success. If that's how it's done then I guess you must really respect Lady Ga Ga and the formerly mentioned Beiber? Afterall, they could both buy and sell every member of Korn 4 times over and still have change leftover. Kids these days...

22. writes:
Well, that's true. Most likely, anyway. Who knows, maybe that lucky lottery ticket puts me even with Jon and Munky ;)
I was talking about the music though;
I personally liked "Follow the leader", loved "Issues". When you compare their latest albums with those 2 albums, you gotta think "what the hell happened?!"
I mean, can You honestly say Korn is making the best music of their career right now, or even "good music" considering their whole career?

24. writes:
I'll tell you what happened... Head left!
In regards to comparing their later albums with their earlier albums of course they will be different. A lot has changed and has happened since then. The same could be said for Metallica for instance, things change. We can't expect 10/10 albums every single time (although it would be good) :)
25. writes:
^^^Don't forget Hannah Montanna/Miley Cyrus either. She could also buy and sell every member of Korn. So do you buy Lady Ga ga, Beiber, and Cyrus tickets/albums based on their earnings or can we agree that earnings don't represent talent and musicianship? Because I believe that's where Wolf was headed with his comment. He's absolutely correct in his comment regarding their discography.

28. writes:
Of course it would be my opinion, but to answer your question I think Munky and JD both have talent. Not nearly as much as Head,Silveria, and Fieldy lent to the band, but it's there and there's no denying it. Like I said, I know them personally and respect them as musicians, I just think they've moved into the catagory of "should've quit while they were ahead". BTW, using Metallica as an example didn't really help your cause. lol.

29. writes:

32. writes:
I'm actually glad you brought that up... JD's solo effort was utter crap. I'm sure they won't quit just because people on the MU think they'll never write anything as epic as their first albums, but that doesn't mean they shouldn't have hung it up when Head, Silveria and Fieldy left. They've already tarnished the legacy of Korn so what's the difference at this point?

35. writes:
Ok......I'm a Korn fan. Just became one recently actually. I got their new album and their best of. I don't really like their first 2 albums. Follow The Leader and Issues, Untouchables and Take A Look In The Mirror were great albums. I liked their new album cause they at least tried to get back to where they were with their first 2 releases and I can appreciate that. I mean they even used the same producer from those records.
This is interesting but I don't think it's really Korn. It sounds like something that'd be on JD's solo sh!t. Korn is a nu-metal band. I heard nothing nu-metal about this.
I'll listen to other songs when they come out and see if they're any better. I think this band still has some decent material left in them. I mean they have Ray Luzier on drums with them. Dude's a fvckin' machine, and a real nice guy.
I mean I understand as a band you have to try and mix things up, but I don't feel this is a good direction. But it's whatever.

36. writes:
Way to step up ZMA. I'm actually digging the new Born of Osiris album right now. So much better than they're last offering. New Korn?...Nah none for me thank you. Judging by the large lines of people waiting to meet them at Mayhem in Hartford last summer;their still popular in some circles
40. writes:
Im late to this conversation. First, fieldy hasnt left korn, so im not sure where that came from. I truly believe korn just expierments too much. I actually enjoyed that song, but they tend to do so much weird sh**, instead of sticking with what made korn...korn! I agree and disagree with WOLF, I loved korn 3, but hated the evolution cd. So I believe their last attempt was a move in the right direction.
Legends in music dont quit or stop while their ahead, I mean look at slayer, acdc, metallica, ect. Korn will continue to make music, love it or hate it.

44. writes:
Cynic, if you read metalsucks at all, theyve been showcasings band on there from time to time that have been mixing metal with dubstep. There is even currently in the makings a genre called "djentstep", which I didnt even take the time to listen to and laugh at.
soooo...ur probobly right. Especially with Korn leading the way in the mainstream. :P
But seriosuly, if Korn is taking this much experimentation into their sound to try and fill the gaps left by band members quitting, I really do look forward to this new album, just out of morbid curiosity. who knows, might be some good songs on it. I honestly enjoyed select tracks from their last couple albums(havent heard that just recent one though) and that is no trolling whatsoever. or no d***ing, as BG dubs my actions as lol
speaking of dub:
WOMP WOMP WOMP WOMP WOMP WOMP WOMP WOMP WOMP WOMP WOMP WOMP WOMP WOMP WOMP WOMP WOMP WOMP WOMP WOMP WOMP WOMP WOMP WOMP WOMP WOMP WOMP WOMP WOMP WOMP

48. writes:
KD: Well they definately had someone else when they played here. I remember reading something about him recently becomming religious too, so it's possible that my brain just associated him with head. Either way, he's a BEAST of a bass player and NOBODY could deny that.
Cynic: LMFAO!!!

49. writes:
theres a reason people b!tch about korn! Its becuase they lost the metal intensity that made me see them 4 times on their korn album tour and once on lifes peachy album. since those two albums there hasnt been much of a solid effort. the alums since those 2 arent bad but nothing to rave about.

50. writes:
I agree with a few posts on here - but really cant stand forums where over half the comments are people arguing. Don't make this site like other sites, a little respect for each other and each others taste in music please people! Happy to read if you dont like the song, but personal attacks just make a site sh!t to visit/read.
This song doesnt sound like a typical Korn song. But why do they have to make every song sound like numetal to be korn? Many bands experiment with new sounds and sometimes it pays off, sometimes it doesnt. I dont dislike a song just cause its not the type of music that band normally plays. Everyone here needs to have a more open mind.
51. writes:
Hey Aussie - I think comments should be open to people to argue as much as they want, but I definitely agree that personal insults (to the band or each other) are boring and clutter up the place. That said there's plenty of intelligent discussion here.
Also you say people need to have more open minds, I sort of think in a way that people need to have more open minds about people who have closed ones :)
53. writes:
Yea R Ten Born Of Osiris new album is really good. I liked Korn's last album but no way I'm getting this. If they brought it back to the sound they had during Follow The Leader or Issues that would be interesting to listen to.
But yea. We're definitely gonna see a sh!tload of dubcore bands now. A lot of deathcore bands already use certain aspects from dubstep, but this is gonna be ridiculous.
55. writes:
ha! usually never click on anything KornHolio related until it has reached somewhere around this number of posts, as there's bound to be something entertaining :)
I think the best inference made was by my dear old sparring partner K-Dogg with his observation that "legends never quit while they're ahead"....well, a precious few have, mainly due to unfortunate circumstances like say, death or something, but for the most part they indeed do not
Its just that in the very fluid and malleable world of music, its very difficult to for artists to arrive at a point of happy contentedness and graciously slide off into the sunset while still at the top of their game...there is always the unbearable pressure of 'What if..." from both their own creative impulse, and from the infectiously enthusiastic demand of their audience....and by the time a decline is recognized, its too late! only hindsight is....well, you know
then there is the infamous uphill battle of attempting to redeem themselves, to get back to 'what they once were' whilst 'staying with the times', which is usually even more tragic than the initial downfall itself...or they just go out on some fvcking tangent in an effort to 'reinvent' themselves which usually doesn't end too well either
Anyway, its a fvcking fine line, the other side of which is the realm of no return...the big danger is people don't usually realize they've crossed it until they're stuck out there in the nether regions, trying desperately to claw their way back to the shining green pastures of Credibility and Relevence
As for this crappy tune, i hit that line at about 35 seconds and figured it best to tread no further...that sh!t pool looks fvckin DEEP! :)
57. writes:
Poor korn. Its like watching a midget that has drank too much stumbling down the road chasing an imaginary magical space goat. Its pathetic, ridiculous, laughable, and you still just can't help but looking and checking it out, and you feel kinda bad because they are not gonna get any bigger, thus always kinda being a joke. I liked all the dubstep references though lol. Dubstep effing blows, I hate to think people are taking it seriously and making a metal genre out of it. Its never going to end....never...
58. writes:
^^^ of course not zma, rat said it the longest!! lmao
i actually kinda like this. then again, i love drum n bass and dubstep. ALOT better than i thought i can tell ya that much. the entire concept (dubstep+nu metal = nu step? dub metal?) is sh** of course, that drop at about 2:30 is pretty sick tho.
all i know is that in flames did it MUCH better with drum n bass group pendulum off of the latter's latest album 'immersion', with the song "self vs self". pure awesomeness imo.
59. writes:
Goddamnit N'head!! you know how much I fvckin love ya!
You always know how to bust my balls in a way that makes me smile :)
Well have fun with yer goddamned nu-step-dub-metal anyway, brother! I'm too old and crochety to be able to appreciate that sh!t! :)
Espero todos esta bien con ti en florida, companero cubano! \m/

HEY CYNIC! Century Media already signed a dubstep metal band lol; Iwrestedabearonce! They have elements of other genres, but the 'dub is all up in it! Haha I actually do enjoy that band - so much so I bought the first album, but leave it to Century Media to latch onto trends.

@Cynic: Actually, I read every single comment on this post right now, including all the lame personal insults said by, well, you know who. I was quite entertained ;) Put on a good show. I think its always a good time to kick back and read the very interesting discussions on MU.
On the main note, I dont know much about Korn, but this collaboration with Skrillex is.. well.. interesting?

HR your comments hit a little close to home for me;could describe Metallica to a T. Its difficult for me to bash these dudes because they are trying to cling what dwindling fan base they still have. At some point they'll have to consider themselves a legacy act@ take advantage of the nostalgia factor. Which can be quite profitable btw. Bagging on Korn is like picking on a cripple. When I went to Mayhem last summer I thought maybe I should stick around for a few Korn songs;but I just couldn't do it. Beat the traffic and got the hell outta there. I don't mind saying I own the first couple of Korn records;I break em out every now and then.no offense HR I pretty much agreed with all you said.

^^^ lmfao!!! can't believe u actually became a member and made the random name we all kept calling u as ur username lmao
but, i was actually quite surprised with korn's performance at mayhem last yr, at least for my date. they were... dare i say... awesome? it did take me back tho. they do have a special place in my metal heart since they were my very first concert, it was way back when untouchables (the last good album) came out.
