Black Sabbath Bassist Geezer Butler Denies Reunion Rumours

Black Sabbath/Heaven & Hell bass player Geezer Butler has shot down rumours that the four original members of Black Sabbath will be reuniting for a series of tour dates and a new studio album. His brief message was as follows:
"I would like to make it clear, because of mounting speculation and rumours, that there will be definitely NO reunion of all four original members of Black Sabbath, whether to record an album or to tour."
The rumours flared up last month when Ozzy Osbourne told ABC News that the four original members were in talks about a new tour and possibly an album, though he stressed nothing was definite as of yet, stating: "the problem that we have is that if we do an album and it's anything less than where we left off, it's gonna be a big anti-climax."

@Geezer is being a baby.....
Man, how wrong you are. Ozzy's fame is more like being a cartoon character and a doddering idiot. Geezer has the right idea. No matter the cash, I wouldn't wanna go on tour with a sideshow like Ozzy anymore. The Dio lineup was all business and THAT'S how Sabbath should end. Case closed.

That sure does suck.
I was lucky enough to see Geezer Butler (very, very good bassist and songwriter) and Tony Iommi (the guy who ultimately created the metal riff) last year at the Dio memorial gig they did at High Voltage in London. If they can do that, surely they can hook up with Ozzy and Bill? (would still love to see those guys).
It'll happen one day... One day...

Please don't tarnish Sabbaths legacy with this reunion. Saw it in 97 at ozzfest and in 99. And by the way Geezer B. Wrote most if not all of Sabbaths lyrics. Ozzy received a song writing credit 4 Changes. That's it! The geniuse behind this band were Iommi and Butler. Ozzy please pack it in and retire. Your embarrassing yourself

And by the way I would prefer to see Sabbath fronted by T Martin at this point. Even if it was downscaled and played in large clubs. No future with ozzman. Sharon got that sweet heart deal 50 percent 4 ozzy 50 percent 4 the other three guys last time around. Ozzys live performances at this point are embarrassing Dio on the other hand put on a great performance the 2 times I saw him front Sabbath. Heavon and Hell and Mob Rules were great Sabbaths records. Case closed!

i read a while back that ozzy said there would be a reunion album with the four original members IF geezer butler could stop b****ing and moaning. this implies that a reunion album could also be made without geezer butler. it wouldn't be the same, but slap that black sabbath name and the word "reunion album" on the product, and 90% of the people won't care about the fine details. sad, but true!

I have to agree with Texmire on this one. As much as I would love to see a full Black Sabbath reunion (album, tour), I think Ozzy is a babbling pinhead, Justin Beiber commercials aside. (I wonder who came up with that demonic idea!) Spiral Artitect's point about doing it without Geezer is valid only because they did it in 97 without Bill, because Sharon was too cheap to bring him. Now, it isn't Sabbath without the original 4 and Ozzy himself has said that many times. If Geezer isn't involved, it will not happen.

To above. Bill Ward didn't do 97 tour because of health issues. Bordin played in his place. In 99 on reunion tour with Pantera they brought Bordin along just incase. All this is about money. Iommi Butler and Ward signed a slave contract with Sharon in 99 to make it happen. Ozzy sued Iommi 5years ago over tshirt money. That's why the band with Dio was called Heaven and Hell. Even though it should have been called Black Sabbath when I saw them in 05 ozzy still butchered the words with a monitor displaying them. He can't even do proper kareoke to his own classics. How sad. Piss on this reunion !

I love all line ups of sabbath. But I have to say that the original line up is my favorite. I would love to see this happen!! I dont understand why so many of you trash ozzy? he was the FIRST voice of this band. please show him the respect that he has earned!! all of the singers have their pros and cons. this is BLACK SABBATH!! This would be a dream come true for me.
