Kataklysm Scrap Original Cover Art
Canadian death metallers KATAKLYSM have changed the recently released artwork for their forthcoming album, "Serenity in Fire". Singer Maurizio Iacono explains: "The good thing about today is that we have the Internet, [so] it's easier to communicate with your fans, to test stuff out and have opinions. What our fans think is very important to us because in the end, they are the ones spending the money to buy albums and we want to satisfy as many as we can with not only our music, but also the booklet and artwork - even if it's impossible to satisfy everyone, we still try :)"
"We've had positive comebacks and many negative ones for the artwork that was intended for 'Serenity in Fire', so after debating with Thomas (artist) and Nuclear Blast, we decided to do a new one for the album. We think the new artwork is killer, so does the label and our close friends. Hopefully you guys will dig this one up too (coz we ain't changing it again, this is it)!

"As for the new album, we just finished fixing up the last details for the pre-studio arrangements. The album is complete and it fucking slays. Martin will enter Victor Studio on October 30th and start laying down drum tracks. We know this is an important one for us and we won't disappoint anyone... We mean business with this album!!"
As previously reported, "Serenity In Fire" is due on March 8, 2004 through Nuclear Blast Records. The much-anticipated effort will be released as a limited-edition double-CD, containing the following video clips: "In Shadows & Dust", "The Awakener", and two new video clips from the upcoming album: "As I Slither" and the movie theme song "The Night They Returned". The latter will be filmed in Montreal on November 20. The clip will contain band shots in the studio and movie excerpts. The bonus CD will also contain such goodies as wallpaper, screen saver and pictures. The follow-up to 2002's "Shadows and Dust" will be produced by KATAKLYSM guitarist Jean-Francois Dagenais (MISERY INDEX, MALEVOLENT CREATION) and will be mixed at Wildsound studio in St-Zenon, Quebec.
